Red Sox refusing to take field in Spring Game

ESPN - Red Sox vote not to board plane for Japan, play final spring game - MLB

I'm watching this on ESPN right now. The Red Sox are sitting in the dugout and refusing to take the field in their game.

Can't say I disagree with the players. They are standing up for their staff who will be going on this 20 day international trip with them.

Why wouldn't the coaches get paid? Was this a "bonus" that was offered by MLB that they renegged on?

But I agree...classy move by the players standing up for their coaches/staff.

From my understanding, it's been standard practice for MLB to provide bonuses to players, coaches, and staff that need to make an international trip happen. The players keep saying that many things that have been promised haven't happened, and this (coaches getting the bonus) is one thing that cannot be tolerated.
