    How many brackets?

So, exactly how much time does everyone waste at this time of year? I run one pool, requiring 2 brackets to be done and enter about 3-5 others with 1 each. Then of course there are the 5 (or is it ten this year) that ESPN allows. All told I suppose I will have 10-15 brackets out there. And I am not a Mike Greenberg ' sheet of integrity' guy. They will all likely be somewhat different. How many does everyone else turn out every year?

    Re: How many brackets?

I usually do the 5 ESPN brackets and then a few others, so usually 8-10. All of them are slightly different too.

I'm with Greenburg, I only fill out one bracket every year. I really invest myself in the teams on my bracket then.

    Re: How many brackets?

I'm a one-bracket kind of guy myself...drives me nuts to have more than that out there and not know who I should be rooting for in any given game...plus I have a buddy that fills out 10-15 and then acts like every final four team is "his team" because he picked them in one of the brackets he filled out

Im just glad I have Homan as my bodyguard, Eustachy joked. If I ever make it real big and get to drive a limo everyday, hell be driving it. I thought he came off the bench like somebody was stealing his cow or something.

I can see your point as there are games, mostly the first few days where I can't really pick one team or the other because I have picked them both. On the other hand, I almost always am in the running for a win in one pool or another until late. If I had only one bracket and it stinks then I'm not as interested at the end.

    Re: How many brackets?

Each year I move further and further from doing brackets and such.... after more than a decade of never coming close I've just lost interest in making picks for more than 1 or 2 brackets.

    Re: How many brackets?

I do the same two picks in about three different pools. The first I do straight off gut feeling, the second I research the crap out of, probably too much... But I have have a pretty good record, won last year with the researched one and the year before with gut reaction. Helps that I'm a Gator fan though.

10-15 range. Four at work, one here, two on espn, one on yahoo, one on cbs sportsline, three or so on facebook.

    Re: How many brackets?

I do 2 "real brackets" 1 at my work and 1 at my dad's work. I do put some time and thought into those. They are pretty much the same- same national champion and same final 4, but a game or two could vary here or there if it's a toss-up. This year I put a couple slightly more varied brackets on ESPN.com, and cbssportsline.com. This includes my "fun bracket" that I mentioned in another thread where KU becomes the first ever 1 seed to lose the first game, and Drake wins the national championship. And just to mix up one more variation, I turned in a 2nd bracket at work today where I used the ESPN bracketcaster and filled out my bracket with those results. That one had Notre Dumb in the final four so I put a note on there so my coworker wouldn't think I was doing drugs.

    Re: How many brackets?

The bracket is like a lottery - more brackets, more chances of winning.

Last year I did 4 but I only did 2 this year. I think I may go to one next year for the fun of being locked on one set of teams. I didn't have much time this year, I did both of mine in about 10 minutes - so it's likely neither will do well.

    Re: How many brackets?

I have 2 brackets in my main pool, 1 bracket in my work pool, 2 brackets in the CF challenge, and so far 2 fillied out for espn ... I'm pretty sick of filling out brackets so I may not even bother with the rest of the espn ones ...

So far the theme seems to be Lousville and Wisconsin performing strongly, KU & Memphis bowing out somewhere around the sweet 16 and UCLA winning it. :fingers double crossed:

    Re: How many brackets?

I have normally done about 3-4 a year, but this year I did 9 on ESPN along with my normal 3-4. Only 1 bracket involves money, so that is my most important one. The CF one is a close second though.

Step 1: Cut a hole in the box.
