    Drugs in our drinking water

A vast array of pharmaceuticals -- including antibiotics, anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones -- have been found in the drinking water supplies of at least 41 million Americans, an Associated Press investigation shows.

To be sure, the concentrations of these pharmaceuticals are tiny, measured in quantities of parts per billion or trillion, far below the levels of a medical dose. Also, utilities insist their water is safe.

But the presence of so many prescription drugs -- and over-the-counter medicines like acetaminophen and ibuprofen -- in so much of our drinking water is heightening worries among scientists of long-term consequences to human health.

Re: Drugs in our drinking water

Did you know that a certain part of our water supply consists of Dinosaur urine??? Didja know that?

This is a fine example of "much ado about nothing". Minute levels means minute levels.

We just had a scare in Europe, where they discovered that nearly everyone's water is radioactive.

Provided that radioactive minerals are in EVERYONE'S water, in minute amounts, I celebrated this announcement by drinking a glass of "glow in the dark Kool-Aid".

I like the added flavor of the chemicals. And the sex drugs are good. I'll get my wife to drink more water.

I don't like to see this. Although it is small, who knows where it will go. Maybe I will move to Alaska also.

Did you know the average fish today contains more mercury than a rectal thermometer?

Would you eat a rectal thermometer? Answer me, damn you!

Rock group Queen lead man Freddy Mercury would take offense to seeing his name and rectal thermometer in the same sentence I would bet.

Than again maybe not, he was in to that sort of thing wasn't he.

Just thought of something though. Everytime I eat fish, for about the next two weeks following the meal, everytime I use the microwave I pee my pants and forget who I am for 4 hours. You think there could be a correlation???? Damn me is right...
