    LOST Episode 7

Not a bad episode. It left me a bit confused, so I guess that is good .
Some of it was expected, but Jin being dead was not. I guess it was supposed to be a flash forward/flash back at the same time.

    Any thoughts?

Do we know Jin is dead? Maybe he was just left behind and the world thinks he's dead, along with all the other people left behind who Hurley and Jack (IMO) want to go back for.

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life:
The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves Orcs. ~ John Rogers

I think there are two options:

    1) Jin fakes his death after the island for Sun and the baby's safety (he did promise he would spend all of his time fighting for their safety on the island) so they don't have to be involved in his work.

    2) Jin's are flash backs and Sun's are flashforwards.

That is an interesting point. I don't know. I thought I remember the producers saying we would know all of the Oceanic 6 by the 7th episode, and that is part of the reason I am assuming it. Next week may clear that up for us. I am really looking forward to episode 8. I think it will teach us some things we need to know, or at least open up some good questions. I heard it ends with a mini-cliffhanger.

So is Jin one of the Oceanic 6 or not? I'm thinking he's one of the two who Jack said had died when he was testifying at Kate's trial. If so, that begs the question: who is the other one who they say died? Claire? And did she actually die or are they lying about that? Is Aaron one of the Oceanic 6, then? And where the heck is everybody else? Still on the island I suppose, but why? There were others who wanted off the island, like Rose and--I can't remember the guy's name...Rose's husband. Mr. Gorpley from Perfect Strangers. Why didn't they get off the island? And who's going to die next week?

Ahh, anyway. Lots of questions, but I love it. With 24 currently off the air, Lost is now my favorite show.

We know for certain that Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, and Sun are members of the Oceanic 6. Jin may be one (and I think is). In other words, there is only one spot left, if any.

(Edit: Rose's husband is Bernard...nice Perfect Strangers reference though).

Rose's husband is named Bernard and I think she wanted to stay because her cancer seemed to die down while she is on the island.

Jin's tombstone was 9/22/2004 ... the date of the plane crash I believe.

I think you are right. I saw a 2004 on there. Hmmm...maybe he isn't one of the 6 then.

He could be I guess, but I don't know if it is known for certain. Maybe it is. That would mean we know all of them by episode 7. I hope he isn't one though.

In the promo for the episode with Kate's trial, I'm pretty sure they said we would learn the fifth member of the Oceanic 6. At that point, we already knew Jack, Kate, Hurley, and Sayid. The only person who appeared in that episode that could have been considered one of the Oceanic 6 was Aaron.

Also, in the promo for the episode that aired last night, they said we would learn the last of the Oceanic 6. So we should know all of them by now. I'm thinking Aaron and Sun are numbers 5 and 6.

That's a great catch on Jin's date of death on the tombstone if it's right. That could mean that he's still on the island. The tombstone would be a fake to make the public believe Jin is dead (in keeping with the story that only eight people survived the crash and only six made it off the island alive). And Sun and Hurley took the baby to the cemetery just as a way for Sun to "talk" to Jin.

    Interesting.

    It's #2, for a couple of reasons

    - clerk mentions it's the "year of the dragon." which was 2000
    - the big clunky cell phone
    - "old jin" attitude towards the cab

I loved that episode. I bought it hook, line & sinker until the very last moment. Felt so stupid.

My take on the Oceanic 6:

    Jack
    Kate
    Hurley
    Sayid
    Sun
    Michael?

We can't forget about the funeral Jack went to. There was no one there. And it was in a black neighborhood, right? My guess is that it's Michael in that coffin.

I think the tombstone had 3 dates on it.

    11/27/1974

I think those are Jin's birth date and "death date", and Sun's birth date. I'm guessing Jin is still alive on the island.

So who's #6? I though I read someone saying the producers/writers/whoever said in a podcast that Aaron does not count as one of the 6.
