    Job Help!!

Hey fellow fans, I am a long time Cyclone fanatic lurker and finally joined. I am an ISU grad (BS Animal Science, 2001) and I am looking for a good job/career opportunity in the Ames/Des Moines area. I have seven years of manufacturing experience and recently lost my job. I'm sick of the job sites and phone calls that lead no where. If any one has any ideas, please let me know. I figured fellow cyclone fans might be able to steer me in the right direction.

    Thanks and go cyclones!

Hey, that's good to know. I will have to put you on my speed dial......I mean speed pm list just in case. What company do you work for? You can pm me or not reply if you don't want that info out there.

Not looking, but always should have a backup plan.

    Re: Job Help!!

Sorry to hear about your job situation. It's tough out there right now but there are good manufacturing jobs out there to be had. I heard yesterday that Pioneer is looking for someone with Automation experience and other positions. Good luck.

    Re: Job Help!!

Whirlybird-thanks, that is a great website. I have been using it for awhile since I met my demise with my former employer. I am looking to network more than anything at this point since the other routes are leading nowhere right now.

I have had more luck with knocking on doors and writing letters so far as answering job postings on career buider, monster, etc. Smartcareermove.com is solid for most people but they don't really service my sector. Agcareers.com is great for most aggies but does little for manufacturing or food industry. Foodcareers.com has several jobs but they are usually coastal or southern jobs. I just don't really want to move since the Mrs. has good job and the kids are really liking it here. (not to mention this is cyclone country!)

    Thanks for the advice everyone.

    Re: Job Help!!

Craigslist had a job for someone in animal drug manufacture last week, I think. Not my cup of tea, but sounded interesting.
