    National Signing Day

In 20 days, G-Mac will ink his first fall class of future MBB players for ISU. I was one who had mixed emotions on G-Mac's hire. I loved his coaching, but wondered if he had the contacts and relationships to bring in the kids to compete at the level we desire. I am thrilled with what he has done. P'Allen committing this weekend hopefully will finish off a tremendous class for even an established coach. Well done G-Mac. BTW, does anyone know any good recipes for crow... :-)

LOL! All is forgiven now that you've seen the light. I'm really looking forward to seeing what GMac can do with this year's team. It'll take every ounce of coaching he's got to have a great season. Should be am interesting ride if nothing else!

    Re: National Signing Day

Gmac has the coaching ability without question, and if he can continue to get recruits like these, ISU will be back in position to be a year in year out top 20 team.

    Re: National Signing Day

I am leaning toward the crow in a blanket recipe at present what do you think? Or do you have any more tasty ideas?

    BBQ Crow
    Ingredients
    10 crow breasts
    BBQ sauce
    2 onions
    Tabasco sauce
    Preparation
Place crow meat in a deep pan. Pour as much BBQ and Tabasco sauce as desired over the crow meat. Let marinate for at least 2 hours. Slice onions into thin slices and push out the centers to make rings. Place onions in skillet and place crow breasts over onions. The two flavors will combine while cooking. Put skillet on stove and cook until onions are brown and meat is tender. Serve crow over the onions.

    Summer Crow Kabobs
submitted by Gordon Krause (The CrowMaster)
    Ingredients
16 pieces of crow breast meat (no bones) (8 crows)
    16 pieces of green pepper
    16 cherry tomatoes
    8 button mushrooms
    8 ears of sweet corn
1 1/2 cups of Teriyaki sauce
    1/2 cup melted butter
    8 kabob skewers
    Preparation
Cut each piece of crow in half and place in a covered bowl with the Teriyaki sauce over night. Clean and cut each ear of corn into 3 pieces. Cook in boiling salt water for 10 minutes. Alternately put corn (3 pieces), green peppers (3 pieces) and cherry tomatoes (3) along with 4 pieces of crow meat on each skewer. Use 1 mushroom to top each skewer. Brush with melted butter and place on preheated grill for about 4 minutes. Flip, butter again and place back on grill for another 4 minutes. Repeat one last time for a total of 12 minutes or until they appear done. Serves four adults.

    Ingredients
4 pieces of crow breast meat (no bones) per person
    wild rice
    bacon strips
    butter
    salt and black pepper
    Preparation
Rub each crow breast piece with salt and pepper. Wrap each piece with a strip of bacon and place 2 wrapped pieces in aluminum foil. Cook at 300 degrees for 2 hours. Serve hot with steamed wild rice, generously buttered.

    Re: National Signing Day

You know, if we can sign Stinnett, that would have to be a top 20, maybe top 15 class. Plus, check out that potential roster:

    Garrett
    Stinnett
    Staiger
    Brackins

That's four very quality players and really fills out a lot of positions. Honestly, I couldn't be more pleased with McD now. I was one of those people who questioned the hire at first, and now am completely on board with it.

I just feel great about Cyclone basketball right now.

I'm ready to see these guys play. He's really impressed me with his recruiting skills. I can't wait for a couple years as the players develop and they should be competing for the Big 12 title. It will be nice to see some real basketball played again.

    Re: National Signing Day

Not to be a stick in the mud but I'll get excited when they sign AND are qualified. I've heard grumblings regarding all 4 (including Stinnett). Would somebody like to debunk those grumblings?

    Re: National Signing Day

I don't know about Staiger, it's definitly possible with his schedule, but I don't see a reason why we shouldn't count on him being on campus.

Clearly Stinnett and Brackins have had at least a little academic trouble in the past (Stinnett not coming here for this season, Brackins at Boys to Men in Chicago) but Brewster is a real school, and a good one at that. Also, Garrett's coach has put a lot of kids into the college ranks so I doubt he'll let Garrett slip through the cracks.

Stinnetts issues were driven by his illness not a poor acedemic track record. I will be surprised if all four (if indeed Stinnett commits) are not signed on the first day and on campus and eligible.

Which one of the crow recipes sounds best to you. I'll cook up some for the both of us.

Stinnet unfortunately will not be a Cyclone. Mark it down. Hopefully that doesn't hurt us with Negadu (SP?)
