    Texas Tech Excitement

Maybe I'm the only one but I'm as excited for this game as I was to start the season. I have no earthly reason to be since we are 3-4 but I just have this feeling that things are going to click and we are going to come out with a much needed W.

I hope I'm not setting myself up for major disappointment.

As crappy as the weather might be, I find myself bubbling over with anticipation too. There's definitely potential to break out of the losing streak with this game. The main issue will be which team will adapt to the weather the best. (I'm not going to put much stock in a team from TX)

This is a must win game for both teams. If the weather is a bad as its supposed to be that helps ISU. Throw in homefield advantage and I think we can pull the upset and finally get our season on track

Yeah I have thought for sometime that a bad weather day rain and or snow would help us since JTS is one of the worst stadiums to play in when the weather is bad. Throw in the wind with a little rain and or snow and its a prescription for disaster if you are NOT a bad weather and cold climate team.

It would be really awesome if we got a foot of snow Saturday. :)

I agree - I've always wanted to see some of those Texas teams come north and play in real weather. It just never seems to be that bad when they do show up.

    Re: Texas Tech Excitement

It is pretty sad that we have to call a win over TT as an upset. They are bad this year. Unfortunately, so are we. Their passing attack will be tough for our defense, but the weather just might even out that mismatch. I am proud of our young D, but disturbed by our experienced O-line. Get it together and we can finish off the season with a winning record. If they lose this weekend, ISU is still looking at a potential winless conference result.

I am not as optimistic about this game, but I can still hope.

    Re: Texas Tech Excitement

Tech's system for passing is incredible, and very frustrating to play against. It seems like they have cranked out a new quarterback every year, and they just keep going. But this season there have been some natural 1st year quarterback things going that make them pretty inconsistent. I'm hoping that Skledeny pulls out the game plan from a few years back when they came to Ames. If you can tackle, you will beat them.

    Re: Texas Tech Excitement

I think we can expect the same thing from our defense that we've seen all year. Start out slow and maybe give up a good drive or two, then buckle down and start forcing punts and (hopefully) turnovers. I think the game will hinge on our offense, as usual, with the defense playing strong enough to win. I think we got this one, a victory will really get the ball rolling down the hill as far as finishing strong through october and november. Go Cyclones!!!

I admire your positive outlook, as I've tried it MANY times. Unfortunately, the major disappointment is probably a reality.

    Regardless, I'll be cheering LOUD!

    Paging Mr. Bowen...

Honestly, I think we know what to expect from our D...give up about 14 points before they pick it up and start forcing some stops. The variable that will impact whether we win or lose is the Offense consistently scoring points. I think if they can get 28 we'll win for sure; less than 24 is going to make it hard for us to win.
