    Gameday colors

Is it just me or are we terrible about wearing I-state colors on game day. I look across to the west side and see a mix of pink, green, black, white, etc. I loved the ideas of cardinal for the Iowa game and gold for the Nebraska game, but for me that isn't good enough.

Why can't every game be cardinal or gold? I think it would be sweet if one side was always gold and the other side was always cardinal that way we could get it right by then end of the season. Except special games like Iowa which should be all cardinal.

Yes, it would be nice if we could PICK A COLOR. One side cardinal and one side gold, or all one color for FB and all the other color for BB.

I still think the Texas game day shirt is the best explanation of how it should be:

    Come Early
    Be Loud
    Stay Late
    Wear Orange

    Re: Gameday colors

Just pick a color and stick with it. All of this switching because another team is visiting, who cares? If red is our color, wear red for ever, traditions can't happen if we switch it all of the time. If red is our color and Nebraska fans wear red, great! Makes it look more red and the players will feed off of the fan support. Also, when it's on National TV, the people watching at home can't tell what the words on the shirt say.

Actually well said. I too agree to just pick one and stick with it. Obviously you are going to get a mix though. Ladies like the pink, people still have the blue, and it's a toss up between cardinal and gold.

    Re: Gameday colors

Things got a lot worse a few years ago when blue was introduced as if it was one of our colors. Add in blue, cardinal, gold, and the fact that designs with some or all of those colors and often on white or gray background t-shirts/sweatshirts, and we might as well make the rainbow our official color(s). Hopefully nothing but cardinal and gold is licensed in the future -- no blue, and no logos on white or gray shirts or hats.

Not to mention this is IOWA. It gets cold, and people have to wear there coats.

All cardinal on one side and all gold on the other would be pretty sick.

Who wears clothes to games? Nude spectatorship is what it is all about!

I'm with no1fan on this! Blah to society and its rules of clothing! Birthday suits all around!...or maybe just the cheerleaders...ya know, w/e.

Oh yeah people...We are no longer blue dah ba dee da ba dah in color schemata, so NOTHING BUT CARDINAL AND GOLD ALLOWED IN JACK TRICE!

I may be a conformist sucker for Iowa State, but when they say Wear Gold for Golden Rules, I do it. And Wear Red for Cardinal Rules, I do it. I don't necessarily buy the special shirts that go with it cuz I kinda thought they were ugly, but I did go buy OTHER red stuff for that game. We all know we own about 1,000 articles of Iowa State apparel (at least I do) how hard can it be to wear it on a saturday?
