I have had a secret suspicion that we might try to sign 3 more guys, not just two, but...where would that 3rd schollie come from though? AT? Current player transfering?

FWIW, I like what I read about Reese, Butler, and Vanderbeken. I'd take those 3...IF we have room for em all :)

FWIW, we took Reese out Saturday night and he said he really liked ISU. He said the fans were ridiculous, and he had never seen anything like it. I have a feeling we're going to get him.

Finally some good news! I suppose that the NCAA will then suspend Reese for the season since your a booster.....jk

    Re: Treat before KC

If that were to happen...the staff has deals worked out with all the walk-ons in terms of scholarships...

I'm not saying anybody is leaving...but the truth is you just never know for sure.

I'm sure they can find one if they see an opportunity.

    Re: Treat before KC

So, both Reese and Butler are freshmen? Not to quibble, but I think I'd like to have schollies open for an immensely talented '10 class. So, hopefully, at least Vanderbeken.

I don't really see a need for both Reese and Butler. That's just greedy.

    Re: Treat before KC

    Some questions for you:

    1. So it doesn't look like anyone is leaving next year, right? Is everyone on the team relatively happy to be here?

Keeping players is going to be key and I am hoping that we manage to keep everyone around.

    2. Is the staff generally optimistic about next year? What are their concerns about next years team?

    3. What does the staff think was the problem this year? Do they really feel like we were really close to winning a few more games (or is that lip-service to the fan base?)?

Wow, Butler had 43 pts. in that game. Jamie Vanderbeken only had 7 pts.

"I hope to coach here until I retire," Hoiberg said.

Much appreciated KG. I would enjoy you speaking a little bit in more detail regarding our current players and any possible defections.

Considering the last few years, this is going to be a concern for me heading into this offseason and it would be nice to hear a "it looks like everyone will be back next year" - or something like that.

lol...There won't be a mass exit...hope is to keep everybody.

I think so...the biggest problem this year was trying to be creative in ways to find/make shots. The incoming guys next year should help a lot. Obviously, strength but they'll be in the weight room and I'm sure the staff will be creative in terms of hiding weaknesses.

We didn't finish games (all 40 minutes)...go back and look at the schedule there are not a lot of games where we did not have a chance to win.

I agree with ya ISUFan! I honestly don't mind if someone leaves because that happens, sometimes it just isn't a good fit. The problem is when it seems like every year you lose 2 or 3 starters! It would be great to go through a offseason and have everyone is suppose to be back actually come back!

After the past two years, I have nightmares about Wes, Craig, and Diante leaving! I have gotten so used to key players leaving every year that I worry about it before the season even starts.

Anyway, thanks for the answers. Not sure who your source is, but it is always good to get inside information.

    Re: Treat before KC

There might be a better chance at Royce White than we thought. Apparently he's already been to Iowa State on an unofficial visit. He also really sounds like he's owning up to his mistakes. It seems he's a good kid, that was a little misguided, but after reading this article, I still think ISU should go after him.
