    Loney canned...(NOPE) EDITED

Not surprising, but Steve Loney was let go as AZ O coordinator.

Fossil was let go in Baltimore as O coordinator also..

Loney was the O-Line coach not the O Coordinator...he is still with the Cardinals.

    Re: Loney canned...

Loney was Oline coach not coordinator and he wasn't the one who was fired....

Following a heartbreaking 24-23 loss on Monday Night Football to the Chicago Bears last night, Cardinals Head Coach Dennis Green announced Tuesday morning that the team will relieve offensive coordinator Keith Rowen of his duties, and quarterback’s coach Mike Kruczek will take over as offensive coordinator.

Kruczek, an all-America quarterback at Boston College and owner of two Super Bowl rings while a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, joined the Cardinals in 2004 after 19 seasons at the University of Central Florida, including six as head coach.

“I just don’t think we’ve been scoring enough points,” commented Green. “Every week I’ve been saying that. We have not been as efficient. We’re 23rd in the NFL in total offense and we’re probably worse than that in scoring offense. Again, it doesn’t all fall on one guy, but there is a job that has to be done and I’m going to give another guy a chance to do that job.”

Kruczek is currently in his third year as an NFL assistant and Cardinals’ quarterbacks coach.

“Mike Kruczek has been here from the onset, and I think his on the field and also his close working relationship with Matt Leinart will give us a better chance,” added Green. “At certain times you have to feel like you have to do something different. Something that we hope will be better for us. I think Mike is a very demanding, taskmaster type of guy and he is “old school” all the way. I think that is what we need right now.”

Unlike Rowen, Kruczek will call the plays from the field.

“He’ll call the plays from the sidelines,” confirmed Green. “I’ll help him, like I do with (Defensive Coordinator) Clancy (Pendergast) in any possible way I can.”

Keith Rowen is in his 23rd season in the NFL and his second with the Cardinals. He joined the team as offensive coordinator in January 2005 succeeding Alex Wood following Green’s first season with the Cardinals. Rowen came to the Cardinals after spending the previous six seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs as tight ends coach. The move to Arizona reunited Rowen with Green, who he worked under while the pair coached together in Minnesota from 1994-1996.

What Green says above about his OC could be the same thing said about our team and Cotton. Mac, take a note: Fire Cotton.

I still have to think Cotton will be on the hot seat at the END of the season.

Green makes a good point though with that statement.

Loney better get the Cardinals o-line playing better or he won't be around much longer either.

Former Cyclone Oliver Ross was blamed by Peter King for missing his block on Leinart's fumble.

Not so much fire Cotton. Just remove one of his responsibilities, OC or OL.

    Re: Loney canned...(NOPE) EDITED

Does anyone see a great comparison between the Arizona Cardinals and the Iowa State Cyclones. (especially to those of you who watched the game)
They have the lead then something Stupid happens. Ok we still have the lead then another stupid thing happens. Then its like all we have to do is get 1 or 2 first downs. Nope. So now all we have to do is not let them go the length of the field, then they get a punt return. 2 minutes left in the game and the Cardinals drive the ball down to a chipshot field goal and what do you know, they miss. Sounds to familiar IMO.........

Our early season play-calling was terrible.

Our O-line has gotten worse as the season goes on...and with 4 seniors. I don't see any possible way he keeps his job. And if he does, I want to know why.

Could we please bring someone in who runs more than the shotgun draw, 8 yard out, and who will throw the ball over the middle???

    Re: Loney canned...(NOPE) EDITED

I see more similarities between Arizona and Michigan State than Iowa State. It hasn't been since KState a few years back that we've blown that big of a lead. (probably because we haven't had that big of a lead)

    Re: Loney canned...(NOPE) EDITED

Edge had roughly 50 yards on less than 40 carries, perhaps Loney should've be the one let go as that offensive line hasn't done anything all year.

Blamed and rightly so...the guy that hit Leinart went completely unblocked...and Ross wasn't blocking anyone...
