    No night game!!!!!!!

If you live three hours from Ames like I do, you gotta love the fact that this weekend isn't yet another night game. Getting home in the wee hours (especially after a loss) is more than tiring...it's annoying. When I bought my season tickets I was hoping to enjoy the warm, sunny Saturday games. Here we are half-way through October before we finally get a day game in Ames. But why not a 1 p.m. kick-off?

The Cyclones have won 12 of their last 16 home games, 13 of their last 17 home night games and 18 of their last 22 non-conference contests. Now is the time to win.

    Re: No night game!!!!!!!

I like the later games more. It becomes more of an all day event centered on and culminating in the game. That said I live within walking distance of JTS...

    Re: No night game!!!!!!!

I like a few night games, like 2 a year, seem to make a more electric atmosphere; I HATE 11/11:30 games, way too early to get up and get a full amount of tailgating in. 1:00 is ok and 2:30's are fine with me; but then again I live in Ames and will only be moving to West Des Moines.

    Re: No night game!!!!!!!

2:30 is a very fan friendly time. It's enough time for lunch and a few pops (if so inclined) and a warmer time of the day in October or November.

I don't mind a night game or two in early September - avoid the heat of the day and make it something special (TV or not).

11:00 AM or 1:00 pm games in November would be fairly stupid - unless there was huge TV revenue to be made. It's too freaking cold, and encourages smaller crowds. November games should always be 2pm + just to be fan friendly (screw TV unless we have a winning record).

I realize my last comment about November games might be controversial. But if we have a bad team and a bad year - why not make it more convenient for fans to attend and attempt to have a good time in adverse conditions?

I'm an out-of-town season ticket holder, so I'm jaded. A few night games early - especially when it's hot - are fine. 11AM and 1pm games suck - regardless of the season. 2:30 PM is about perfect since we won't get TV games past the 3rd week of the B12 schedule anymore.

I live 3 hours from Ames and love the night games. Staying up late is a small price to pay for the great atmosphere.

If you have to sit near the lights, night games are the worst. Nothing like a face full of bugs for half the game.

Maybe we could ask JP to switch to yellow bulbs or install a few industrial-strength zappers. Or what about a free citronella candle for each spectator?

Do they have this problem in Lincoln or do the Bugeaters get them all?

Yeah well, ya know, that's just, like uh, your opinion, man.

    Re: No night game!!!!!!!

I love night games. You can still go out late on Friday nights then sleep in Saturday morning and be all rested up to go for tailgating! Early in the season especially when it's still warm out, it cools off at night making it more comfortable.

Not to mention the hour you have to wait to get out of the parking lot.
