    football ramblings

To me our ticket pricing isn't a big deal. It is a great reason for our group of friends to get together 6-7 times a fall.

I think we will try to get the running game cranked up in the non-conference. IMHO A-Rob will emerge from the group available, and will be the horse they ride. I don't see an alternating back pattern. I also think Arnaud will win out and he will run more than Meyer did.

    My projections:
    Recievers- Sumrall, Hamilton, Johnson
    TE-Franklin
    OL-Dedrick,Lamaak,Baysinger,KO,Alvarez
    QB- Arnaud
    RB- Robinson

    CB-Singleton, Bell
    S- James Smith, 2008 recruit
    LB- Bibbs,Raven,Jesse Smith
    Dl-Frere,Tate
    DE-Parker,Taylor

I think the four d-linemen are the key. I think everyone behind them can hold their own.

    What do you think?

I agree with the d-lineman, if the interior can emerge and hold their own, I think ISU is going bowling. I know Arnaud is essentially a rookie starter, but hopefully ISU will be using a ground game and a solid D to win games and not be depending on Arnaud to win games.

I think it all comes down to the d-line!

    Re: football ramblings

I think the best thing we can hope for is an offense that can stay on the field and domniate the T.O.P. That would help our d-line stay fresh to compensate for the possible lack of depth. How many games did we lose the last few years because the D looked totally gassed in the second half.

We did great at time of possession last year. I expect that to continue.

    Re: football ramblings

With the stats I found we had 5 minute advantage in T.O.P. That looks pretty good but how much of that is because we ran about 100 more plays during the year than the opposition. I don't think it was because we were keeping them off the field as much as it was our D giving up scores. We were out scored by about 170pts or so. So I guess we need to keep the ball and score TDs when we get into the red zone (57% last year vs 67%, we had 17 fewer RZ opportunities) Pretty simple to say much harder to do I realize that. That's why Haughton needs to play oline in my opinion (random call back to other thread here!).

He is done with school and didn't want to continue playing football ... like another poster said, he choose that it was his time to move on to other things.
