Smokers the world over are the most creative minds.

    Cyclone
Iowa State became the Cyclones after they leveled Northwestern in 1895. As the Chicago Tribune (9/29/1895) noted:
    'Struck by a Cyclone
It Comes from Iowa and Devastates Evanston Town'

I like loops in the system like they have found. The law makers always think they got ya. Then realize that people are smarter than they are.

Lame, to find a way around it just shows how hard the addiction is. If people put that much time and energy into things that are actually important, the world would be a better place.

I agree 100%. It's an addiction that kills those who do it and those who don't.

    Important to who?

That is the problem with socialism, it defines what IS important.

Let the individual choose what is important.. that IS freedom.

Exactly right. And for a bar to say their reciepts have gone down 20% since the ban just shows how sad it really is.

"I won't go out because I can't smoke". Apparently the addiction to smoking is strong than that of alcoholism.

    No newsflash there, I guess.

Unless the individual's choice is influenced by an addiction to a cancer causing toxin that pollutes the environment. Addictions don't lend themselves to making the best choices.

"Important" is the greater good of the community as a whole. You can't tell me that if someone who is extremely passionate about something couldn't be better used for helping the community progress instead of fighting something as simple as a smoking ban. If they dont like the ban, maybe the could use the energy to help form a group that speaks out against freedom issues and influence new laws instead of finding ways to break the current laws.

are you talking about smoking or

Toothpaste (I am addicted to brushing my teeth):
Toothpaste contains sodium laurel sulphate (SLS) to make it froth. This is a detergent which builds up in the environment and is absorbed by animals and plants. Studies have shown that it's a potential carcinogen and is also thought to affect adversely the skin and reproductive system. Natural toothpastes not containing SLS are available.

Batteries (I use lots of these ... so you could say I am addicted to it): Batteries contain heavy metals, such as cadmium, which leak out and can contaminate ground water and, consequently, drinking water. It also takes a lot of materials and energy to produce batteries. If you're going to use batteries, you should buy rechargeable ones.

See the point is... each of us has a nasty habit that impacts others... So make your choices the best as you can and expect that from others.
