Clinton Mann's Team Advances in Kansas 5A Tournament

Clinton Mann's team advances knocking off higher seeded Sumner Academy. I hope that he brings this underdog mentality to ISU because he may have plenty of opportunity to use it in the next year or two.

I am very excited about Mann. I don't know what to expect out of him next year but I'd love a guy that just has a nasty, banging rebounder mentality that likes to throw down a few gorilla dunks a game. From what I've read about him, that's how he rolls.

I was thinking the same thing. But I guess he is a HS senior. There aren't many Lebrons or Beasleys in this world.

I'll have to get over the fact that his name is Clinton. Lately, just the sound of that name burns my soul.

I found an older article about Clinton (I have problems typing his name also) that mentions former NBA player Scott Wedman was his AAU coach. Wedman compares Mann to Luke Walton.

Doesn't he weigh about 220 ? A hs senior at 220 could easily put on 20-25 in a year. And to think he can step right into Jiri's No. 33

Luke Walton??? I certainly wouldn't call Walton a banger and rebounder. Interesting...

Re: Clinton Mann's Team Advances in Kansas 5A Tournament

If he can come in next year provide 10-15 minutes a game play defense, rebound, be a bit of a bruser I think he'll help a lot. ISU just needs him to do the little things and I think that will really help the team. Very Klay Edwards like.

Look at it this way, by the time Mann steps on the court, the Clinton's will just be an after thought. It's going to be Obama vs McCain, and may the best MAN win.

Several weeks ago Greg was asked directly how much Clint weighs, that it had been reported among fans that he's about 190 pounds.

Greg laughed, said he's certainly more than 190. Greg then said he's between 210-215 pounds.

At that weight and if he looks thin, maybe he'll be a 235-240 pounder one day.

Would Greg Brunner be a good comparison?

I do find it comical that people still insist on the fact that you NEED a banger down low to win.

You dont need one, you just have to have exceptional guard play.
