    big 12 tourney question

If we lose both games and colorado somehow manages to win their last game (tying our record at 4-12), would we be the 11th seed or the 12th seed? does anyone know the tiebreaking method? I am looking to buying tickets for the thursday session and i want to be sure of our seeding before purchasing.

    Thanks

I believe it goes by your record against teams in your division (ie. Big 12 North)

And since we split the season series with Colorado, what is the next step in the tiebreaker? Record vs. common opponents? Total points?

Let's just hope it doesn't come to that.

    Re: big 12 tourney question

First: Records of MU and NU. If they tie, then it's...
Second: Records of OU and OSU. If they tie, then it's...
    Third: Draw/coinflip.

ISU needs MU above NU or OSU above OU.
    CU needs the opposite.

11th seed has little dignity to me compared to 12.

I saw this on Tigerboard and the guy who wrote it was named "MizzouClone" so maybe he won't mind if I steal it. The gist is three things need to happen for ISU to end up the 12 seed. ISU loses, CU wins, OU beats Mizzou.

    Re: big 12 tourney question

Honestly IMO the 12 seed would probably be better for us. It is looking like Baylor is going to get the #5 seed and Texas is going to get the #1 seed. That sounds much nicer then a possible #6 Texas A&M followed by #2 Kansas!! Also, we would get into session 1 as the 12 seed, that means cheaper tickets!!!

Wow I am all off today :P I meant second round if we were the 12 seed we would get #4 OU and if we were the #11 seed we would get #3 KSU. I would much rather have that matchup then a rematch with KSU!

    Re: big 12 tourney question

I'll have to wait to see how KSU plays against us Saturday before hoping for a worse seed. While I'm not fond of our chances against 'em, it's not like KSU has played well lately.

    Re: big 12 tourney question

We are the #11 seed playing the #6 at 8:20 on Thursday. We can't move up and if we loose and Colorado wins we will win the tiebreaker vs Colorado. The #6 seed can still be any of about 5 different teams (I wasn't going to try to figure that one out).

Re: We are the #11 Seed in Big 12 Tourney

Nope. ISU can still be the #12.

ISU loss + CU win (NU loss) + OU win (MU loss)

Tiebreaker: Record vs OU (CU 1-0, ISU 0-1)

The MU/NU tie at 6-10 is not broken to determine the ISU/CU tiebreak winner. MU/NU is considered one team in that case, and both ISU and CU would have the same overall record (2-2) against those two teams.

You have to roll around to the south division. A loss by MU to finish 6-10 means a win for OU (9-7), meaning you have to compare ISU and CU records vs OU (since ISU/CU both lost to UT).

Wouldn't the records against Missouri come into play before the records against OU? ISU 1-1 CU 0-2 -> ISU wins tiebreaker?

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that. ~ George Carlin

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life:
The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves Orcs. ~ John Rogers
