    No Chris Babb

If you look at his scout profile now, it looks like we're not even at the top of his list. Goodbye to another solid recruit.

He is not gone for sure. I talked to him on facebook, and he said that he is still evaluating where he wants to go, and he's not a lock to go to Iowa.

Not saying we have a chance with him (I honestly know nothing about him), but I would not take anything scout has too seriously....

Tell you what. I miss the days of not knowing. I didn't know who the new guys were until the class was signed. I really hate seeing all that we miss out on for both BB and FB.

Please tell me you have never donated money to the athletic department.

Talking to recruits through these networks is a bad bad idea IMO.

I have never giving money to ISU, and all I did was right on his wall, "ru u going to iowa or what?" He said "Idk, I still have to evaluate my decisions. I'm not sure where yet" That's all.
(note: since I'm not old enough to go to ISU, and I've never donated a penny, it's legal)

Could, hypothetically, someone donate to the Iowa athletic department and become a booster. Then, intentionally violate NCAA rules but not laws, such as communicating with recruits through Facebook, sending them unsolicited gifts of cash with Post-It notes that suggest they should become a Hawkeye, give them a few pairs of pants and let them borrow your car, find one of the players on their high school team that isn't good enough to play basketball in college and give them money for playing making the team professional, etc.

Then turn yourself in to the NCAA and wait for the sanctions to fall? Because seriously... if it happened to Iowa I would laugh.

have you ever got caught outside In a strong rainfall? Yes or NO. If it"s yes, then you might half felt the pane of hard(tought) rain on you head. If it hurt"s then it"s tough. Yes or no. Okay I'm right and you know it.

So alothough you attempt"ed to say you didn"t understnad, now you do. Fair enough?

But have you ever interacted with people who once attended school but are now professionals? Someone* might rule that you are a professional by association and therefore are ineligible to go to ISU.

    * Someone is not the NCAA in this case, as they don't apply to non-athletes, but you get my point.

I don't think Babb is a high priority for us. If he ends up at ISU I will be troubled. Not because he isn't good but because what he brings to the table isn't really what we need.

    Re: No Chris Babb

I've said this before but the NCAA doesn't have people patrolling these recruits message boards looking for infractions from certain schools fans. They aren't going to go after a school b/c they have some idiot person sending them messages. Even if they donate.

Wait we are ISU! Nevermind they would **** us over!! But seriously the NCAA has bigger things to do than worry about this. They have a lot of Sampsons phone calls to check into

I've had those same thoughts too and I've wondered if anyone somewhere has done that to their rival. Probably not but if you remember the fiasco with Jiri and the NCAA, his host family who inadvertently got him in trouble by loaning him an old car or something, were Hawk fans but the father had made one donation to the ISU football program like twenty-some years ago. So, with the NCAA any punishment is possible, especially if you're not one of the favored elite programs.

Ahh..the old facebook. Not wise to do this at all. And I say the same thing to Iowa fans. If you have paid $10 to get into a Cyclone event, purchased season tickets not through a business, and several other seemingly mundane things, you are considered a booster in the eyes of the NCAA.

And once you are, you are forever.

They don't monitor everything, but there are always people watching out for this stuff that wait to throw the card.

Such as this post. If Babb goes to ISU, I will send this to the NCAA ;)
