    Random, Possibly Obscure Football Stats/Facts

So since football season is over and if your anything like me, are going through withdrawals, I decided to put up a thread that people can use to post random possibly obscure football statistics and/or facts. They can be either College or Pro and the more interestingly obscure the better.

    I'll get it started.

    Did you know?

That the San Francisco 49ers are the only team to have been in the Superbowl more than once and to have never lost? In all 5 appearances they have made, they have won every time, they have never lost a Superbowl appearance.

    ooh, just found this one:

If you field a kickoff (which, if gone out of bounds is a penalty) of a ball that is still in the field of play while you're standing out of bounds, it's a "Kick Out of bounds Penalty".

I just read an account about this from a game that happened back in 2004. It takes a lot of work to get a 1 point safety, but it can be done.

Yep. The defense has to gain possession during a point-after attempt, then fumble the ball backward into the end zone and fall on it. I believe it happened during a UT/A&M game.

This is not quite the same thing, but I recall our game against Texas in '98 (wherein Ricky Williams had 354 rushing yards ) featured defensive returns for points on two of our point-after attempts. I think one was a blocked PAT returned for a defensive two-point conversion and the other was an interception returned. Pretty sad. We lost something like 54-33. Wild game.

Bandhauer had 437 passing yards and 5 touchdowns. Darren Davis only had 53 rushing yards on 20 attempts.

Also, Texas' two defensive two-point conversions were by the same guy.
