Major Brawl in the Florida International vs. Miami game

    ESPN.com link

This is embarrassing. Not only for these two teams and their entire programs - but for college football. Hell...all of football. Just horrific what took place and lucky that no one was seriously injured.

The stomping, kicking and helmet swinging - wow.

It would have been a bold, yet correct move - had the respective AD's called the game - each forfeiting. I don't know if that's possible - but it would have been the correct move at that point.

And would have sent a very big message.

Re: Major Brawl in the Florida International vs. Miami game

Needless to say this was the last straw, Coker will be fired. Did you see the Miami guy with his helmet in his hand just wallup the FIU player? Or the FIU player on crutches hit a Miami player with his crutch? This was a pathetic display by both teams. Miami has always had a lot of cockiness and been "thugish" (for lack of a better term). But these days they are not even good, unlike when they departed the airplane wearing army camo (1994? cant remember the year for sure, Im prolly way off).

Yeah, when I was talking about swinging helmets - that's what I was referring to. My jaw dropped when I saw that - thank god he did not hit someone without a helmet on when he did that.

The crutch thing...I kinda chuckled a bit at that as bad as it sounds. Not out of humor (well, kinda), but that was so foolish, ya couldn't help but to laugh.

Not even good?? I'm sorry if you don't think a 4-2 team isn't even slightly good, but I would give anything for the Cyclones to be 4-2 and able to take a top team like Florida State down to the wire this year and be able to blow out lesser opponents. You're right they aren't as good as a few years ago, but to say they aren't even good is a little ridiculous...

About the situation... absolutely pathetic. And to think these players (31 on both teams total!) have only been suspended for one game so far... does that really send a message that this kind of activity will not be tolerated? Our own Jiri Hubalek on our basketball team has to miss multiple games because he accepted some dinner invitations by an Iowa State contributor (from 20 years ago!!). So if Jiri would have played football and tried to viciously attack other players on the field he would have only been suspended one game? How is that not more serious??? COME ON!

Fire Larry Coker, since they want to anyway.

Fook mi. I don't think anyone could have said that any better.

These two programs are sending a very poor message.

Re: Major Brawl in the Florida International vs. Miami game

Forget the suspensions, where are the charges? There is no way that a person would not be charged with some type of assault swinging at a person with a helmet anywhere else. We have all the evidence on video tape, so let's start seeing the charges.
