    Honda CR-V or Pontiac Vibe?

Okay, I test drove these vechiles over the weekend, wondering if anybody at Cyclone Fanatic has had any experience with either of these vehicles. The Honda CR-V was a 2004, and the Pontiac Vibe was a 2006 . I loved the CR-V, just a little worried about the space, and the gas mileage. The Vibe was pretty nice, and gets 30-36 miles per gallon.

Gee do you think the Vibe is larger? I drove the Pontiack once and was not impressed with the size or vision out of it.

    I've never been in a CR-V.

FYI, the Vibe is a Toyota Matrix rebranded as a Pontiac. It's got a 110V jack in it. It comes in handy at tailgates.

the problem with the vibe if somthing goes wrong, it is hard and expensive to fix, the reason the vibe gets good gas milage is because the engine is actually a motorcycle engine i believe if i remember correctly

Re: Honda CR-V or Pontiac Vibe?

I have a used 2000 Honda CR-V. I have roughly 120K miles on it. My last fill up i got 25 mpg. I really like my CR-V. My next car will most likely be another CR-V. I can pull the back seats down and put pretty much anything I want there but I just recently graduated and don't have a family and kids.

Re: Honda CR-V or Pontiac Vibe?

I had a rental Vibe a few weeks ago, and it was the most disappointing vehicle I have had in a long time.

It rode absolutely terrible, and was very noisy. I think it rode bad because the shocks were shot in it, but the motor noise was very concerning.

Maybe I had a beat up lemon.

Re: Honda CR-V or Pontiac Vibe?

We have a 2005 CRV. We like it a lot. Its been very good to us. We'd love to get the more stylish 2008's, but it would be nice to be without a car payment sometime in the near future.

I dont know about their sports utilities, but most Pontiacs dont hold any kind of resale value. Honda are reliable and will run forever, and if you ever sell it you will get some money back.

My CR-V has one in the back too. It also has a built-in table that covers the spare tire.

My parents have an 05 CRV and I know they really like it. They've never had any problems with it as far as I can tell and from my few experiences driving it and riding in it, it rides smooth, is comfortable, and fun to drive. I don't have any Vibe experience but really like the CRV.

That built in table is pretty handy. Now if they only had a built in keg fridge or smoker.

Apples and oranges. The CR-V is a small SUV. The Vibe is a hatchback. Both vehicles are very reliable and get good mileage. The CR-V is easier to find in all wheel drive if that's important to you. The Vibe is based on the Toyota Matrix. The Vibe has more of a sporty car like ride than the CR-V. I think it all comes down to which you prefer to drive.

Whichever vehicle you choose be sure to have the vehicle inspected before you buy. This can save you a ton in the end.

It has a suzuki hayabusa engine in it. jk.
It is not hard or expensive to fix a Vibe. It has a very reliable Toyota engine and transmission which can be serviced at a GM or Toyota dealer.

The Vibe seemed built cheap to me. I test drove one. Cant beat Honda reliability and value. The built in table is awesome. Used it a ton. Wouldnt buy based on that though =) But the CRV is a great machine.

Are you seriously considering these two vehicles? Good god. What does your boyfriend think you should get.

Seriously? I know a few guy who drive CR-Vs. They are great cars. I love mine and would never call someone gay for driving any car. Geez, lay off.
