Nebraska resurrected the consolation game in the girls tournament this year (same for boys next week). I didn't see any and I didn't hear about the discussion, but, I'm sure it had something to do with $$ tix, popcorn, etc. I remember when the NCAA did away with it. There was general discussion about the teams not being "up" for a 3rd place game and they were often not well played.

In South Dakota, they play a full consolation bracket. All eight teams that play in the tourney play for the entire weekend, including the First, Third, Fifth, and Seventh place games.
