    Spring Ball???

I see on Rivals that the U (Miami) has already started spring practice and that U of Wisconsin starts next week. When does ISU's spring practice begin???

No i don't have cabin fever, i'm ready for some football, 52 1/2 days until the spring game!!!!!

Question can Bo participate in everything except games???? Or does the requirement to sit out a year include all organized activities????

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

The spring "game" doesn't count though, does it?

    Re: Spring Ball???

I am pretty sure he can do everything but dress for the ACTUAL games. If Chizik wants, he could play him in the spring game, but that doesn't do much for us other than let fans see him. I would hope Chizik uses the spring game for depth chart evaluation more than showing off his new players to fans.

Im betting Bo will be dying to play, so he might let him play a little. But you're right, he should use it for evaluation for next year.

Same reason Lucca didn't play exhibition games, I'm guessing. No sense letting a kid get a taste before sitting out a year...and risking injury, taking a spot from a player who needs the practice, etc.

Badgers begin next week? Doing what, shoveling off the field? We have as good an IPF as most anyone, and I am glad we don't start until we can at least get outdoors.

Madison ain't Miami. What are they thinking?

    Re: Spring Ball???

I can't wait to tailgate again. We did last year for the spring game and it was pretty fun. I don't feel so bad drinking before noon if it is followed by football.

Also, I'll be interested to see how our defensive front 7 looks..

Bo on the scout team, how much will that help the starting D to see a back like him in practice everyday.

*sigh* And the poor kid hasn't even set foot on the turf yet...

Guys, he's a good back. But he's no Jermie Calhoun, or Darrell Scott, let alone an Adrian Peterson. Frankly, he was no more highly rated than J.J. Bass, and we all know how some of you feel about him, not remembering how he ran before he got hurt.

Furthering the parallel, I noticed that Florida had Bo listed on the roster at 6-0 207 last season, while ISU had J.J. at 6-0 206. And the coaches have talked about J.J. and Bo being two of the vocal leaders in the weight room.

Let's see how he does in Spring Drills, at least, before we anoint him as the Next Coming. Otherwise we might end up blaming the kid, or the coaches, or the team, because our expectations were too high. We do already have one back of his caliber. Even something as simple as a shoulder injury can lead to disapointment, after all.

    Re: Spring Ball???

Bo doesn't even need to be amazing in practice this year to make the impact that is needed. How many years have we been able to say that the scout team has a legitimate D-1 player on it at running back. I would be almost never. We have been without a decent back for a couple years and we now have some depth. I don't care if he isn't Adrian Peterson or Jerimie Calhoun...what he is is a cyclone and from what I have heard about him is that he wants to help this team in any way he can.

I hope that he gets a couple snaps during the spring game, probably with the 3rd team offense.
