    Diamond Rebate

Not sure if this has ever been posted, but it just came to my attention.

There is a CA lawsuit settlement pending against Debeers and you can get up to 30% of your payment price back on anything purchased in the last 10 years.

I know a lot of people on here have mentioned weddings and engagements and this would be something to look into in case it pays out.

Do you need receipts? I bought her engagement ring in 1996, but I have no docs on it anymore.

    Re: Diamond Rebate

Only documentation you need on the first claim form (I believe it says they may request more later) is if the piece of jewelry is over 10grand.

    Re: Diamond Rebate

yeah, you don't need to send anything in unless its over $10K (which probably means Brain will need to send documentation).

They say they might check later ... I just called Blue Nile (where I bought mine) and they sent me my account number from the transaction (in 2005) to view my reciept online.

I'd bet most places could get you a copy if you ask.

I saw this a while ago and wanted to research it more to make sure it was legit. It looks good, which makes me a happy man!

    Re: Diamond Rebate

I did it and you don't need documentation, but you have to know how much the diamond cost alone... Can't include the price of the plat or gold band. However, I don't know how they would know.
