Ken Miller on Sed this morning

Said SJ wanted to come to ISU, he filled out the paper work to come to ISU, he gave it to his mom and she said no you are going to A&M. He left called his dad, told him what is going on, his dad came and signed his ISU LOI, then it was faxed to ISU. His mom still mad about the whole deal forced him to sign the A&M LOI (not sure if there was contact with his mom and A&M), sent it to A&M claiming his dad couldnt sign it. A&M claims he is going to A&M, NCAA says no he is going to ISU, NCAA tells A&M to stay away from Sed's family (makes you wander what was going on after the ISU LOI was singed).

Sounds like he really wanted to be a Clone for awhile but his mom didnt think he should leave Texas.

Ken Miller (who maybe the biggest and only ISU supporter and fan that has a daily show on KXNO) also said he thinks will play a lot for ISU next year.

I heard this too. I'm glad my parents never did this to me....tough situation for Sed.

kinda makes you understand why he wants to leave Texas -- to get away from Mom.

I don't see what his dad did wrong. If my kid came to me and said he really wanted to go to "school X" but my divorced wife wouldn't let him....I would sign the papers and probably have a serious talk with his mom. Of course there is probably more to the story..

This is what I would do too. I find it hard to believe his mom would be like "you want to go to ISU but I want you to be close to me so you have to stay in Texas", because that seems VERY selfish. There has to be more to this story we don't know.

Besides, at some point he was going to have to leave Texas. What happens if he went to A&M and is AWESOME and gets drafted? Does the mom say "you can only be drafted by Dallas or Houston, and NO TRADES!"

Is his Mom not going to come watch him play at ISU? What about fellow parents / coaches reactions to his Mom. I know for the most part everybody will act professional an welcome her with open arms...but in the back of their minds what will they be thinking? If she does root for ISU wont it seem kind of tainted?

She will see how great ISU and the fans are and become a fan. The fans will accept her.

I think once AA hits SedJ for their first 50 yd td, she'll come around.

I bet if he gets 15 touchdown catches his first year she will be high as a kite and probably own 13 Cyclone T-shirts. All water under the bridge... I just don't trust anything untill I see him on the field.

Or she won't. In that case, being 3 states away might be the best thing for him.

Re: Ken Miller on Sed this morning

The majority of ISU fans probably don't even know this whole situation is going on. Accepting Sedrick and his mother won't be any different than accepting any other player.

I do remember that in one of the game programs (can't seem to find my pile right now) that there was a 2 page spread with some seniors and their parents and the parents said things along the lines of "We knew ISU would be great for our son" and "We're proud to be part of the Cyclone family"....hopefully after a while momma comes around and can say these things about her son's experience at ISU.

Could we welcome SJ on facebook or something to where he could see it and know we are his fans? I have no idea how to do those kinda things but would really like for SJ to know how his fans feel about him.

Re: Ken Miller on Sed this morning

Tough situation...glad it seems to have worked out in our favoe. Hope his Mom comes into it with an open mind.

Unfortunately I happen to know some friends who haven't had any contact with a specific parent in several years because of some disagreements. Some people can really hold a grudge. I hope Sed's mother isn't one of them.
