    Let's talk B-ball

With all of the negativity about FB, I was thinking we could change the topic to B-ball. So here goes:

    1. Who will make up our starting five?
    2. Cyclone breakout player of the year will be?
    3. What will be our overall record?
    4. Will we play in the post season?

So, how about it? What are your projections...

    Agree on starting 5

    Breakout player is McIntosh

19 wins and we bubble for NCAA....but don't squeek in due to fairly easy early schedule.

Sure sign it is football season at ISU, we are talking BB. I agree with your post. I think we will have 19 wins and an outside shot at the NCAA. 19 wins will largely come at the expense of a weak non-conference schedule which will probably keep ISU out of the tournament.

Did I hear that we are close to a record in season ticket sales approaching 9000 or something? Hilton is going to rock!

    Re: Let's talk B-ball

I took a walk through of Hilton very recently and the new scoreboards and ribbon are amazing improvements. I think the crowd is going to eat it up!

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

    Mcintosh
    Taylor
    Clark
    Gray
    Hubalek

Even though we all know he is really good I think Clark breaks through this year. With McD coaching him i think he will shine!

    18-19 wins

    4. Borderline NIT NCAA

You read my mind. This is exactly what I was planning on typing. Great minds think alike, eh? But yeah, with the amazing athletic talent of clark under G-Mac's coaching...thats gonna be a tough guy to play against. I think his biggest contribution will be on the defensive side, with his huge wing span and his quickness. He'll lead the team in blocks, steals and rebounds(i actually dont want him to lead in this but whatever) and his huge dunks will get the record crowds going. If McDermott can make players out of our bigmen by the confernce season dont take us out of NCAA contention.

I agree with all this but I think we will see a lot of both Wes Johnson and Cory Johnson.

I'm excited about basketball coming up, but I'm not giving up on football just yet. I loved the ribbon thing in Wells Fargo.......does the Hilton ribbon run all the way around? I'm not going to put a guess on the number of wins. I'm just going to enjoy watching them develop.
