    While I don't believe that recruiting hype equals success, it's hard to argue with the numbers. Coaches can make a difference in player development, but the kids still have to play the game.

    I wish we had the problem of having some 4 stars not pan out, but having double the amount that did work out.


    Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.

    This also mentioned the two star players who were All-Americans like Jordy Nelson and Kevin Smith so at the time lesser rated players also can make quite the impact as higher rating prospects

    Interesting tidbit from the article.

    "OSU has also had its share of players who weren't highly recruited but turned into all-Big-12-caliber players. In fact, seven of the 11 Cowboys on NFL rosters from the past nine classes were2- or 3-star prospects coming out of high school."

    I thought this was interesting, and given that can give us some hope.
