    Offense questions

What do you guys honestly think Iowa/Neb, or even a team like Toledo would do with our offensive players?
Our offense to me sucks a big ol donkey. I went to the Bondurant Homecoming game and had a hard time picking which play they would run next, but at ISU its easy. We call the plays from the stands (Except for the fake field goal.)
I don't understand what we are doing?
    Also....
Everyone needs to lay off the defense. They basically allowed 14 points. A cheap touchdown at half and and end of gamer TD. I like our defense considering how young it is and everyone thought our defense would allow 20 points a game and our OFFENSE (that is fricking nowhere) would score 30.
Didn't know that would turn out to be like this...
    By the way..........
Toledo got there ***** handed to them tonight by central michigan. Unlv also joined the club versus Colorado St. TCU also lost the 2nd straight game making the Big 12 look great.

    Re: Offense questions

They basically allowed 14 points? Why shouldn't the touchdown before the half count?

The defense played much better in the second half, but it was a little disheartening for them to completely lie down for Nebraska on that last possession.

    Re: Offense questions

I think Barney Cotton needs to go. The offense is simply not executing. Ben Bruns even said on the postgame that they don't do the little things right. There's no sense of urgency. They don't break the huddle and run up to the line of scrimmage. They just seem to be in slow motion.

I agree with you Hand, with the talent on this offense, there's no reason this team should be struggling to score points against UNLV, or even Iowa or Nebraska. We moved the ball up and down the field tonight, then all the sudden the wheels would fall off. They are, at this point, completely incapable of sustaining a drive. They are inpotent, that is, unable to maintain an erection.

I hate to be the one to bring this up, but maybe we have overrated our own talent. The fake fg was one of the worst calls of the Mac era so at least we were treated to something special.

You mean you don't agree with trying to run 7 yards up the middle against Nebraska's regular defense? What's wrong with you?

If we're going to try to go for it why not just actually go for it? I'd rather take my chances with an actual play (outside of a QB draw) than trying that fake. But still, at that point we may as well have kicked the field goal. There was still plenty of time left.

    Re: Offense questions

Everyone involved with our offense, players and coaches, needs to be taken out back and shot. That had to be one of the most pathetic displays of offense I've seen in quite some time. Pathetic.

KU put up almost 600 yards on that same NU defense just last week, WITH A BACKUP QUARTERBACK? Are we this much worse than KU!?

What happened to Josh Johnson? He was the talk of the town but gets ZERO playing time? If the offense needs a spark, why not try throwing him in there?

    Supposedly he's dinged up some.

Where was Scales last night? I think he might have had one catch for a few yards, but no carries. No semblance of a rushing attack = teams tee'ing off on our passing game.

    Re: Offense questions

Scales had the Asian flu. He said the oline was not dependable.

What I saw: the opponent was guarding the right and left sidelines like AJ Hawk. The middle was wide open for Walter Nickel. Were our spotters watching from above? Yes, fifteen yards down the field there were huigwe holes in the defense. Why do we not just pull up in an empty spot and wait for the easy pass to arrive. Do we not run routes like the other teams?
