    Pull the Arnaud Red Shirt?

What do you guys think. The best QB in the Big XII just went 18 of 38. A draw dropping 47% against a horrible NU secondary. Open receivers and plenty of time to throw. Missed all kinds of throws, what was he thinking on that interception? Did nothing with his feet tonight. I say give the frosh a shot.
    What do you guys think?

You have to admit Meyer did look terrible. We started throwing it every play to Blythe like so many have been demanding, and what do you know, Nebraska starts blitzing their entire secondary. You think we could have nickled and dimed them to death. Cotton stinks and Meyer can't win without good play calling.

Meyer did look bad tonight, but something tells me that the three year veteran starter is still the smart pick vs a true freshman.

Pull the redshirt from a freshman half-way through the season after a single bad game for Meyer? Pass.

That was pretty stupid post. Meyer wasn't his usual self, but Nebraska had a lot of pressure on him.

Re: Pull the Arnaud Red Shirt?

With Barney Cotton coaching the O-line and calling plays, Joe Montana would look bad. What adjustment was made when Neb. was blitzing? None.
Meyer may have had a bad night, but this offense has been ridiculus all year. Too bad he didn't get the Head Coaching job in N.M.

Re: Pull the Arnaud Red Shirt?

The refs are the reason he didn't conplete more than 50% tonight.

His arm was the only thing keeping us in the game.

Re: Pull the Arnaud Red Shirt?

Even if Arnaud could play better than Meyer this year (and I'm 99% positive he can't) what would be the point? The QB is NOT the problem with this team.

Re: Pull the Arnaud Red Shirt?

Meyer is exactly hpw it looks. But, to pull a redshirt out is a bad decision. You boys praise the players one day and kill'em the next. Most people picked'em right where they are at, poor coaching and the usual BS no depth. Will Mac, Ever have depth....now I believe he feels the pressure. This Nebraska team was not that good.

Re: Pull the Arnaud Red Shirt?

What pressure is that? That Pollard repeatedly and in no uncertain terms supports his coach in all his comments? That pressure? The original post, as has been stated before, has to be the most idiotic post that I have read to date. Meyer is one of the top three quarterbacks in ISU history, and might be the best by the time he is done. Any problems they have are theirs as a team.

Re: Pull the Arnaud Red Shirt?

Pressure to pull them togeather. They have talent, they are better than they play, hopefully. Some closer than expected wins, three somewhat expected loses. TWo of the loses were defintely winable, enough said. Pollard supports him, does that indicate no pressure to win.....MTBSW (money talks bs walks)....put it on the field. I am more than happy with the way Dan has improved the team and his staff...you tell me what's missing......and it's not the refs.

Re: Pull the Arnaud Red Shirt?

ridiculous...meyer has KEPT US in more games than he's EVER lost us. he's a believer. he's calm. he never stops believing in iowa state. even when we're multiple scores down. don't get me wrong - austin arnaud, fine qb, but let's not waste it before we have to. bret meyer is an underrated talent, even on our sidelines. the ball (and more playcalling) should be in his hands
