    Texas Post Game

Mac going yelling at the refs priceless.

The team needs to find more ways to score.
Good D. Is it time for Brackens to start on the bench?

DG played good but had some issuse, did make a huge jump over last week though.

This team needs depth I think they got a bit tired at the end, and the refs did them no favors.

See McD can coach just give him sometime. The first half was very well played. They just needed a few more options on the Offensive end of the court

Clark and Jiri had great games, Clark had an awsome block.

Crowd looked and sounded great, good job to those who were there.

Sean H had a good game and I take the bad things I have said about him back.

Peterson did a good job on D as well

This team needed this game and a win would have been better but it will show them what hard work and doing it McDs way can get them.

    Re: Texas Post Game

Those refs this game were pretty terrible. Not just on the calls against ISU but on all the calls. Not very good ....

miss on the goaltending was awful....but so was the foul that sent Haluska to the line in OT.

I really hope its time for Brackins to start coming off the bench. Maybe Thompson starting over him will light a fire in him!!

    Re: Texas Post Game

Great Texas defense and poor ISU guard play is what lost that game for us. We couldn't seem to feed it inside in overtime and were forced to shoot silly 3 pointers and the guys couldn't hold onto the ball.

    Re: Texas Post Game

I don't ever want to see anyone with less than 30% 3pt accuracy chucking up 3's 5 feet behind the arc ever again. Especially not in overtime. Especially not with 20 seconds left on the shot clock. I don't care if you're are a freshman or a senior, you've got to know better. McD needs to drill that into EVERYONE'S head.

    Re: Texas Post Game

Tough game to lose. Saw it slipping away late in the 2nd half.
Today showed that we lack the leadership to step up when we need them and put the game away.
This isn't a knock on Rashon or anyone else, more a comment on the youth of the team.

    Re: Texas Post Game

Mac was going after the ref, because of the call on Rahshon where they bumped heads in the corner.....

Refs did not cost us this game....

We need to get better on offense, attack the basket more and quit settling for poor shots, we need more scoring.

Good effort getting closer, but I am sure frustrating for the boys, with our talent level (ISU) vs the other teams of late, we damn near have to play perfect to win....

    Re: Texas Post Game

How or why we didn't get the ball down low to Jiri in overtime baffles me, and Brackins can't throw it in the ocean, he needs to stop shooting.

I agree with everything you said. Couple of things to add

    1) We NEED more scoring threats because right now it is Wesley & Jiri then you can sprinkle in a little Clark and a little Garrett but that is about it. We just need to get 1 more constant 10+ guy (maybe AT?), and we could see a few more W's.

    2) Brackins has looked terrible in the last few games. He needs to ride the pine for a while. I am no longer worried about him leaving early (at all). He will be good enough to play in the NBA someday, but I think it will take all 4 years (ATLEAST 3 with how he is playing)

    3) We really need to stop shooting so many 3's. I have had multiple posts about how angry I get when we settle for a bad 3 point look, but I can't stress this enough. We don't have the shooters to shoot 24 3's a game and win.

    4) I personnally thought the refs really stunk. I really do try to be neutral, but the second half was terrible. I honestly thought the first half was even, but Texas got a few calls in their favor in the second half.

    5) I bet all in on Texas to cover.....losing in OT when we were up by 13 in the second really sucks....losing all your points because of 1 point takes the cake.....

    Re: Texas Post Game

I think ISU has some good players but as a team on the floor it is like they get dumber when they actually start playing the game. It seems they quite doing the things that puts the team in a winning position like DG launching threes in overtime instead of getting the ball in down low. Lastly with Brackins he shoots everytime he is in the low post why isn't there a player in the paint to try and get a rebound. I swear everytime he missed no else was within 8 feet of the hoop.

At least I got my taxes done today and I am getting a refund. Please do something to turn this around or I will have to jump on the bandwagon of who ever is number 1.

You must get the ball inside, so you drive up towards the bucket. Garret's two 3 point tries fron NBA range was just plain lazy. At the end of the game, you must step up and try to do even more. Entry passing is weakest part of our team. You have to get the mindset you wll get the ball inside. I noticed BP went into the game after the two ill advised three pointers.

Theis game was the worst reffed game that I have seen this year. They stunk both ways.
