"Day after day, situation after situation you do things the right way. If you do things the right way, in life, you are going to be successful. I'm not just your football coach; I'm not just here to win games. I could not be prouder of who we are and who we are becoming, together. You do things right in the classroom, off and on the field; that's whats's makes us Cyclones and that's what our culture's all about."

    Re: HS Player Rankings

    major prospects!
6'9" F/C Jordan Dykstra, 6'1" G Branden Stubbs, 6'5" F A.J. Derby, and 6'4" SG Harrison Barnes head up an absolutely loaded 2010 class for the State of Iowa. Dykstra has already committed to Coach McDermott and the Iowa State Cyclones while Derby has already gotten interest from Iowa where his father starred in football years ago. Stubbs is projected to be one the best guards every out of Iowa while Barnes is also starting to get some mid-level interest already.

This is an article from NY2La, an online hoops place. It seems to think the state of Iowa has a really loaded class of 2010.

The 2010 class in Iowa will be very exciting! However, I'm not sure Gregg McD would thank you heartily for announcing to the Roy Williams' of the world that there is high major talent here.

    Re: HS Player Rankings

I wonder if the hoopscoop article is outdated. I though I read somewhere where Harrison is now #64 (or something in the 60's) on that list, but I can't find it on google any longer. Oh well.

Okay, I'm guilty- I'm a Harrison stalker and was at another site and found this article.

1/28/08 NY2LA Sports Midwest Top 50 (Complete List) (IN)

Ranking Name Ht. Position High School
1 Thomas, DeShaun 6'6" F Bishop Luers (IN)
    - Ferguson, Dominique 6'10" F Lawrence North (IN)
    3 Jereme Richmond 6'6" F Waukegan (IL)
    4 Harrison Barnes 6'6" F Ames (IA)
5 Ray McCallum 6'1" PG Bloomington North (IN)
6 Flavien Davis 6'5" F Wisconsin Lutheran (WI)
7 Crandall Head 6'3" F Rich South (IL)
8 Paul Bunch 6'10" C North Lawndale (IL)
9 Anthony Johnson 6'2" G Whitney Young (IL)
10 Evan Anderson 6'11" C Eau Claire North (WI)

A portion of the "free' article

Not to be outdone is the state of Iowa who boast a number of solid 2010 prospects led by none other than 6'6" SF Harrison Barnes of Ames, Iowa. The long athletic Barnes is one of the most underrated prospects nationally right now and a big time talent both on and off the court. In state powers Iowa and Iowa State already have offers on the table for Barnes, but you can expect that list to really take off after competing on the grassroots travel scene this spring/summer.

    Re: HS Player Rankings

My brother, Matt Stubbs from Pleasantville has got to be the #2 best Stubbs point guard in Iowa. I feel bad I already told him I thought he was the best Stubbs point guard in Iowa.

Just make sure if we get em we keep em. Seeing as they won't stay a secret for long.

How can anyone be a secret if they are on the list?

I would not be surprised that Harrison makes the Top 50 eventually.

    Re: HS Player Rankings

The most disturbing post from that forum is this gem:

Post: "Did you post the class 2011 yet?"

Response: "It's already posted on Chicago Hoops Middle School Forum. It's accurate"

I would rank the job of evaluating and ranking middle school BB players only slightly higher than being forced to "Mad About You" reruns all day.
