Just saw this on the front page of Digg, and I'll bump this for tomorrow morning when people start checking into CF again:

Haleluja, finally shows like lost, heroes, and especially my favorite the office. The writers of the office are geniuses. I can't wait. And I heard there is only 8 episodes of lost season 4. Is this true

Sounds good to me. I need Jack Bauer back in my life for season 7 of 24. Definitely would love to see more of The Office, too.

Only 8 were completed in time for the writers strike... and it's likely now that the other 8 will be written and filmed for a total of 16. I don't know if there will be a midseason break between the first 8 and the second 8, however. We'll have to wait and see.

Finally we can get back to some decent programming instead of being saturated with reality shows.

Well not quite. Yes, negotiators for the both the writers and the producers have a deal in principle, but the Writers Guild still has to approve it, but word is that they will. But even after that, it's still going to take a while before new shows hit the air. Because the shows won't start up production until they have shows ready to be shot.

Bottom line, don't expect any new espisodes of your favorite show until May.

With that all being said, I am THRILLED that we finally appear to be at the end of the strike

Probably too late to get anything done before fall. Still gonna be lots of repeats until fall.

I still have 36 episodes of Monk saved on my DVR to watch. Looks like I'll get to still put a dent in that. Down from 52 when the strike started.

Dang, I like Monk. Really, it's kind of a stupid show, but I've found myself addicted to it. And, yes, I have through season 5 on DVD....

The unique thing about the show is you pretty much always know whodunnit and how, but you watch to the end to see how Monk figures it out. There were some VERY good episodes early on.

I was just starting to get used to not having Grey's Anatomy on Thursdays! That was about the only good thing to come out of that strike was no new episodes for the fiance to watch so we could watch something better for once! I made sure to turn the channel last night and not let her get hooked on that new show Lipstick Jungle. She already watches too many of these types of shows she doesn't need another one!

there shouldn't be a break, they took a long break just filming these 8 episodes. but as long as the writers get the material done in time. we should have 16 straight episodes.
