    Texas

Lets move on the best thing about college basketball is the fact they normally put two games a week so if you stumble in one you can move on really quickly lets do that.

I think we have a better chance against Texas we just need to keep the pressure on Augustine, by applying some Rahshon or Haluska D. We need a better all around defensive preformance and we need alot of shots to fall. The weather will be much better I expect to see more fans there to get the players hyped up. Wesley should be much healthier (I hope). Itll will be tough but we need a good win over a ranked team to have this season not go down as a failure and for us to get momentum into our final 7 games plus tourney all is not lost. GO STATE!!!

    Re: Texas

    Needs:

    A scoring threat
    Bench scoring support
    Better on ball defense
    Better rebounding

Given the circumstances and injuries I'm not surprised by any of this. It's going to be another year before we put it all together. Either way I still enjoy watching games. Beat Texas! Go ISU!!

"I think that people are responding to someone standing up and saying this is what we want to do and let's not be afraid to go for it,'' Pollard said. "I think Iowa State has a very conservative, modest background. We never pound our chest and say `Let's do it.' It's OK to set a goal. You can't do it if you don't say what you want to do. You should be proud of it.''

    Re: Texas

I think we'll play better, but I don't think that will translate to a W unless the Texas guards have an off shooting night and they get in foul trouble.

Our effort will be better I believe.

    Re: Texas

Assuming Wes will be relatively healthy, and the way Jiri has come on recently and Texas' lack of size, we should have at least two scoring threats. In order to have a chance in this game, I think we'll need a third and possibly a fourth. We haven'te had anyone emerge like that in a while.

Texas has a lack of size? I'm not sure of the specifics, but in the games I've watched they seemed to have plenty of big bodies.

    Re: Texas

To me this season is simple - when the threes are dropping, we are a decent team and when they're not, we are going to struggle to score 50.

    Re: Texas

Guard group need to shoot 40-45% instead of 30% for the season. Simple.

We have more big men three point and can make it shooters than we do guard three point and can make it shooters.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. UT may not be able to pound it like A&M, but they can still take it inside, and if ISU lets them get position 2 feet from the hoop like happened last Tuesday, the result will be the same...

Hopefully Texas is looking forward to their Big Monday match up vs. Kansas too.

It is for a good cause, so I say yes.

As for the game, I see ISU playing better but it will not translate into a win. I hope I am wrong, but I don't see us playing well enough to beat a ranked team.

or because there are usually two games a week, mistakes can easily compound on one another and sometimes 1 loss can result to 2. same goes with winning, thats why it is pretty easy to get on a roll in basketball, when the shots are fallin they are fallin, when they are not there not.
