Nebraska Strikes Big with 2 More Recruits for 2007

Doc Sadler now has three big recruits:

    OLD RECRUIT from last week:
6-9 230 Alex Chapman (Sheridan, WY) Grew up in Camby Oregon. Had knee injury as senior so less interest in him before JC

    NEW RECRUITS from yesterday

6-10 235 Shang Ping from China (Illinois Central College) 10 points/7 boards (offers from Pacific/Okie State) Loved the coaching staff; very tough kid

6-8 220 Alonzo Edwards (11th best player from Texas at Klein Forest High in Houston 13 points/8 boards/2 blocked. This would hgave bneen higher except his tame had 1a 6-10 and 2 other good players. Physically gifted. (Offers from Texas tech, USC, Wyoming, and Miami Fl) May have academic issues.

Doc Sadler hit the road again for more recruiting although the three available schollies may be filled.

Looks like Doc will be recruiting fairly well in Lincoln. We cannot settle for the fair athlete that we will make into an athlete.

We need to take a higher level startup project if current recruiting around the Midwest is any indication.

No offense to NU but when you beat Pacific out for a recruit it's really not that impressive. Edwards looks like a nice player for them. They also picked up a another JC kid with the last name Harely that originally was a UNLV recruit. 5"11 point guard that has attended every Junior college in the country.

Note these three are not as skinny as some of our recruits. They are more bangers from what I hear. Like KStatish.

Nebraska has been a non factor since early in the Danny Nee era. I hope they stay that way. Until they prove otherwise, I'm not real concerned.

Re: Nebraska Strikes Big with 2 More Recruits for 2007

Yes, they have been a joke. Here is a joke to liven everyone up for Nebraska:

Mrs. Callahan decided to have her own portrait painted by a well-known artist.

She told the artist, "Paint me with one-carat diamond earrings, a large 2 carat diamond ring wih baquettes, glimmering emerald bracelets, and a beautiful, red ruby pendant."

"But ma'am, you are not wearing any of those things."

"I know," said Mrs Callahan. "My health is not good and my husband is having an affair with his secretary. When I die I'm sure he will marry her, and I want the ***** to go nuts looking for the jewelry."

Does anybody remember Ron Falenchek? Alex Scogland? How about Aaron Agnew? They were all big.

They were not only big but they were fat.

Thought Agnew was able to work it down to 330 so he could go play back East. We probably should have switched him to the football team as 6-9 noseguard.
