    Rank Super Bowl XLII

Best one you've seen? I'd say it's undoubtedly the best since the Patriots first Super Bowl when they were 14 point dogs (more than the Giants today) to the Rams. But with what the Patriots were going for tonight, and the emergence of Eli Manning -- that's the best one I've seen.

The one with the Rams and the Titans was pretty good as well.

    Re: Rank Super Bowl XLII

It's certainly in the conversation of 5 or 6 as the best ever. Could be the top.

I was hoping the Pats would get a FG at the end to push it into the first Super Bowl OT ever - would've been a signature "ending" to that game.

Maybe the best 4th quarter anyways. The first 3 quarters, especially 2 and 3, were kind of dull.

This was the greatest ending ever because the Pats were unbeatable.

    Re: Rank Super Bowl XLII

I wasn't bored during the first three quarters because I like watching good defense, too.

ISUAlum2002, good call with the Rams/Titans, I forgot about that. That's about as close as a game can get. You never see that happen in football, let alone the Super Bowl.

I've been a huge Tom Brady fan, but the way they left the field before the game was officially over was classless.

I would say this was the best, because the Giants were such a huge underdog.

I'm a little torn. E Hobbs got beat on the game-winning TD pass. I did like the was the 'dog G'men played REALLY well. Well fought game, and the '72 Dolphins remain the only unbeatens. I still don't know how I feel...

Best ever. Immortality was on the line. It came down to the wire with one of the greatest plays in NFL history (Manning scramble to Tyree). A defensive battle worth watching again.

    Re: Rank Super Bowl XLII

As I was watching it, I thought it was probably the greatest. However, I think that all this talk about the greatest Super Bowl has to do with the Giants' last drive. Had they not scored that touchdown and the Patriots would have won, all the talk would have just been about perfection and not the great game.

For that reason, I don't know if it's the greatest. I'm not old enough to make that saying but it's probably definately top 5.

I agree this is what makes it the best SB ever! Also, this game was "WON"; there wasn't a critical "choke" play made by either team and the G-men were in "dire staits" several times on the game winning drive. High drama...

This was one of the best SB games to watch. I can remember too many being over by half time. At least this one kept your attention until the end.

    Re: Rank Super Bowl XLII

I completely agree. It was a snoozer, if only from an offensive standpoint. If anything, it wasn't that both teams' offenses were doing poorly, it's just that both teams' defenses were that good. Everything that the offense did well, the defense did better. It was simply a great game.
