What are the percentages that Will and Curtis make it to the NBA Roster?

According to DE, probably both Will and Curtis both will be invited to Orlando. Will is listed as 5-11 and second shortest in potential group.

20% of the Chicago 64 camp invitees of 2005 made the NBA.

If you are ranked in top 80 people available to draft, you have a chance to make a NBA team roster for two years. Now they may have you play some D1 ball to prepare such as Marcus Fizer did with the Austin Toros, but they get their paycheck. And if you are invited to Orlando, NBA pays the fees. The six teams (64 people) play each other in the camp.

NBA Drafted players (both rounds) are only guaranted money for two not three years, both of the two rounds. Every player drafted last year made the NBA team. In fact, sixteen undrafted players also made the NBA. If you are ranked in top 80 people available in NBA draft, you have a chance to make a NBA team roster for two years (bonus money up front and/or salary). Now these people may have you play some D1 ball to prepare again for the pros such as Marcus Fizer did with the Austin Toros, but they get their paycheck.

If invited by letter to Orlando this week, unless they have a poor showing and, based on last year's analysis, expect them to have a 20% overall chance to make an NBA roster. Since we have two people rated fairly close together, ISU has a 40% chance for one to make pro.

Odds that Reggie George makes an NBA roster 0%

Odds that Brunner makes NBA roster 15%. Odds that Horner makes NBA roster no chance.

Odds that Hawkeye's think Brunner will be first round pick....certainty

I have heard this from Hawk fans, and I think it's hilarious. I would be simply amazed if Brunner got drafted and made a team. I actually like Brunner, he went to high school with some family of mine and is a really good guy. But there is no way he's playing in the NBA.

I don't know about percentages, but I think both Stinson and Blalock get drafted and make a team. So I'll go better than 50% for both of them.

Stinson Has a Better Chance than Blalock

I'm not sure Stinson or Blalock have a great shot of making an NBA team. However, I think Stinson has a better shot.

Stinson is bigger and stronger and is physically ready to play in the NBA. Stinson's position in the NBA is PG and he has the strength to play in the NBA and would be a pretty effective player in an uptempo offense. He is not a great outside shot, but neither did Tinsley.

Blalock is quick for a college PG, but he would be average for a pro PG. At this point I just don't think Blalock does alot of things well, but nothing great. He is not a great finisher in the lane, he wasn't above average as a defender and his outside shot isn't very consistent.

I do think both guys could make a decent living playing pro ball in Europe. I'm not sure what the NBA's plans are for the NBDL, but maybe Blalock has a deal with the Celtics to compete at that level and maybe play in the NBA in a year or 2.

Re: What is the percentages that Will and Curtis make it to the NBA Roster?

I could be completely wrong on this, but I think mentally, Stinson is ready for the NBA whereas Blalock is not. Stinson has the mindset to play physically and wants to show what he can do with the ball. He will be able to make himself look good at the camps and also has the vision to distribute the ball. Will has the skill and talent, but in my opinion has always been second to Stinson, I think he needed the year of being in charge to really have that confidence. I have no doubt he'll be able to make his teammates at the camp look good with his ability to pass and assist. I just don't know if he will be able show off his own skills as well. That's just my thoughts, but I could be way off on that, maybe he'll just take charge and dominate. I hope he does!

I think Stinson's take charge mentality is what will hurt him the most coming in to the draft. He projects as a point guard, so he needs to display his passing ability and unselfish play. This is where Blalock excels in my opinion.

Although some teams like New York Knicks need a real take charge fellow. If he takes charge and then passes, that would be fine. Noticed today that Larry brown was testing out 4 potnetial draftees for the Knicks - no CS sighting.

Re: What are the percentages that Will and Curtis make it to the NBA Roster?

I never know how to gauge the NBA, because there are always players that you've never heard of who rise to the top. I'm hoping for the best for both Will and Curtis. As far as Brunner goes, I thought last year that he would be the key to the game with them, and he disappeared, and so did they. That being said, I think he works hard enough and has enough talent to get a spot. He just has awful decision making at crunch time.

Brunner apparently will not be invited to Orlando per draft express.
