    Beasley or Durant?

With both players putting up similar numbers in completely different ways who would you rather have between Durant or Beasley?

Beasley...he's got those great big paws on him!

    Re: Beasley or Durant?

Durant I still believe has more upside, more athletic. Otherwise they're almost carbon copies.

    Re: Beasley or Durant?

I enjoyed watching Durant play far more than I do Beasley - but I think Beasley is slightly a better player.

    Re: Beasley or Durant?

Beasley for the simple fact he can be more physical Durant couldn't bench press 125 last year when NBA teams came to watch him. Beasley gives you more options than just shoot he rebounds and opens up the game

    Re: Beasley or Durant?

Durant is a great player, but if I had to choose between these two I would choose Beasley. He is a more stronger player and I think he has a better pure shooter.

    Re: Beasley or Durant?

Durant, hands down. I really believe that Durant - while literally a one-man wrecking crew last year - was more of a team player. The times that I heard him interviewed, I always felt that he was fairly humble and a "good" person who represented their university well.

I also don't know Beasley personally. However, in the interviews I have read or seen, combined with his demeanor, all scream "punk!" Don't get me wrong, he is a MONSTER basketball player. I just don't see him as a team-first type of player. I see him more of the mold of Terrell Owens and Randy Moss (pre-Patriot era).

In fact, in a recent game Beasley was praising Frank Martin for the great coaching move that was implemented. What was that great move?--- Letting him remain in the game even though he was in foul trouble. I'm not necessarily questioning the coaching as much as I am pointing out the vanity and the inflated ego displayed.

Of course, I tend to NOT think very highly of most recruits that made their way to Bob Thuggins's doorstep. So my objectivity may be clouded quite a bit.

BTW, prior to last year I had never had any real animosity toward KSU. But right now, I want nothing more than the Thuggins/Martin experiment to quickly explode and go down in infamy. Once this happens, I will go back to only slightly disliking the Wildcats.

"Some of you [Hawk fans] might point out that Iowa won 15 straight against ISU. Guess what? That was 18 years ago. That means during the lifetime of every player on both rosters… Iowa State has a winning record over Iowa." - Ross Peterson (Hawkeye Nation Contributor)

    Re: Beasley or Durant?

Maybe it was because Durant played for Texas and I like Texas, but I would choose him. Plus I hate KSU so much!

    Re: Beasley or Durant?

I'd go with Beasley. I think it's harder to find dominant post players, than dominant perimeter players.

Agreed, but the difference between Durant and a normal perimeter player is several inches!! I would have to take Durant because he was probably the most enjoyable basketball player I have ever watched that wasn't wearing an ISU jersey!

    Re: Beasley or Durant?

Beasley. Offense is a wash between the two. Beasley is stronger and able to shut down the paint a little better. Kind of like asking which Jessica I'd want to go out with, Alba or Simpson.
