I looked into his eyes and I soiled myself in fear. McDermott I will be sending you the bill for the dry cleaning or replacement of my undergarments.

I sat behind McDermott on a flight this past spring (he and an asst were on a recruiting mission) - he's very intimidating, even in person. I went up to wish him good luck, etc., and he was the NICEST guy on earth.

Re: Look into his eyes... and you will know fear

I was excited when we got Floyd, indifferent about Larry E when he was anounced, and dissapointed when Morgan was named after all the bru-ha ha that went on before naming him. McDermott I'm excited about, I feel that he will bring a well coached, well executed game to Hilton, and the Magic that has waned over the years will be back with a vengeance..

Re: Look into his eyes... and you will know fear

Back in the day we used to chant "Give'm Hell Johnny!!" when Orr was chewing out the Refs, I can't wait until McDermott is giving that look to a Ref and the fans starts chanting "Give'm Hell Greg!!". Almost as good as "Sit Down Norm!!" when Mizzu would come to town..

I'm not very old, but I remember being a pretty young kid and participating in the "sit down norm" chant. That was a heck of a good time.

Was that on a flight from Tennessee back to Iowa, by chance? If so, my supervisor was on that flight as well. He said that McDermott is freaking huge and he also agreed that he had an intimidating presence, but that he gladly chatted with anyone who came up to him. This was right after he took the ISU job.

Sit down Norm chant. ALways fun. Even when He was doing color commentary for a game and he stood up we broke that chant out. Good times.

Mine was right after he took the job, but this one happened to be on the way to Detroit (I think - although I DID go to Tennessee last spring, too. Now I'm confused.) He is ENORMOUS - I'm all of 5'2" or so, and he was just really, really nice despite dwarfing me.

Hey, C.John - throw out some KC name drops, and all will be good.
