    ISU Three Point Leaders

During the K-State game, it was announced that Wes had just made #20 on the list of ISU's all time three point shooters. Is it just me, or does it seem odd to anyone else that a sophomore, who played power forward a year ago, and missed part of the season with injury, is already on the top twenty list midway through his sophomore year?

Not a reflection on Wes at all, more that ISU basketball hasn't had much depth among it's three point shooters. Not a great wealth of three point aces. Of course, that means since the line has been instituted, since players like Barry Stevens would be high on the list otherwise.

    Re: ISU Three Point Leaders

Interesting point, but I don't think it's all that curious. It was started in the mid 80s I believe, 21-22 years ago depending on the exact start. There's about one top candidate per year and some of those years haven't been too spectacular, especially lately. Heck Taylor played one season and is #13. Plus in the game today, players are given the green light more often so anybody that showed up in the rankings from the late 80s was darn good. I won't post it here for space reasons, but you have to go all the way down to Terry Woods at #11 to get a player from the 80s in career three attempts.

    4. 146 Michael Nurse, 1999-2000
    5. 128 Hurl Beechum, 1992-95
    6. 125 Justus Thigpen, 1990-93

    Re: ISU Three Point Leaders

Willoughby got to number 2 in 2 years. I believe Horton only played 2 years. Blalock and Stinson only had 3 years. Taylor got to where he is in one, as did basically Barnes. Neal was a little playing walkon for most of his career.

Wesley is a great player for us but when you put the numbers from 3 side by side with some of our best players, he's either on pace or quite a bit behind them.

For a fun time, think about Hornacek with a 3 point line. :)

have you ever got caught outside In a strong rainfall? Yes or NO. If it"s yes, then you might half felt the pane of hard(tought) rain on you head. If it hurt"s then it"s tough. Yes or no. Okay I'm right and you know it.

So alothough you attempt"ed to say you didn"t understnad, now you do. Fair enough?

Actually, though, Hornacek wasn't considered a great shooter in college. Once he got into the NBA he changed his shot and the rest is history.

Yeah, I don't think it's that big of a deal because the line hasn't been around forever.

Wait until Haluska cracks the top 20.

Not to poke fun at Sean, because I love to see him play well and help the team, but at his current pace he will finish with maybe 10 in four years?

    Except he's a junior, isn't he? He's on pace for about 4.

I can't wait to see where Lucca ends up in just 3 years. Wes Eikmeier with 4 years will be up there too.
