    Mens Basketball Excitement

I am not giving up on football, but I wanted to open a thread about the excitement swirling around the basketball program. I just watched the mens baskteball commercial and the video of the Hilton rennovations. the new scoreboard and image ribbon are just awesome feeling. I think with Hilton looking pretty and new, new coach, and basically new team and perspective, we are in for a new era. I think a whole new excitement and aura is in the works and the Magic will be revitalized even if the team struggles this year. but I think they will surprise alot of teams this year. Anyone else pumped?

    Re: Mens Basketball Excitement

I love basketball, it's my favorite sport, and I can barely contain my excitment about the season. It feels like a whole new era beginning, I've gotten my season tickets because I want to be able to see our team and say I've been there for the start of the McD tenure. This guy could be here 20 years and I would love it. go STATE!

    Re: Mens Basketball Excitement

I am excited, but cautious about being overly jacked. We have basically an unproven team with little experience in the Big XII. However, I am excited about a coach that will get his team to play with effort and execution on both ends of the floor.

To get overly excited about THIS season may be setting yourself up for a fall. However, it's impossible not to get excited about the program as a whole.

    Re: Mens Basketball Excitement

Very pumped. I don't have high expectations for post-season play this year, but the program is definitely heading in the right direction. Having watched the new guys in the summer league, I do think we're going to surprise a few teams. At the point guard position, I think McIntosh brings some leadership and team focus that we haven't seen in a long time.

    Re: Mens Basketball Excitement

I'm excited also, unlike the NBA, a college program can start in a new direction almost immediately. My expectations are low for next year but I'm excited to see what's going to come in the years to follow.

    Re: Mens Basketball Excitement

I have no real expectations for this coming, but I am really, really pumped about it. I just want to see the Cyclones playing hard and with a sense of direction. It may not look like it at first as all the new guys adapt and learn to play in the system and with each other, but I feel like the general direction of the program just took a leap straight up.

I am excited to see what McD and his players can do, however it sucks that I wont be able to make many games after Christmas due to graduation and moving to West Des Moines.

I'm totally excited. I want our team to win, but I almost don't care about wins and losses this year. I really enjoy watching college basketball, and I think Gmac will not let us down.

    Re: Mens Basketball Excitement

I'm sooper dooper excited, my tail is wagin' like a labrador retriever. I realize that w/ basically an entirely new program coming into ISU (coaches, players, etc..) that ISU will have its ups and downs in the first couple years, but I think GMac will be awesome, and when he gets ISU to the upper echelon of the NCAA again, I'm not gonna freak about him leaving for a bigger named program or the NBA, he's an Iowa boy and I can see him creating a dynasty at ISU. I love ISU hoops, and my fondest memories from my time at ISU were in the Hilton!!

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.
