Got this quote from a Nebraska board

"I don't think videos matter for preparing for teams. All teams seem to focus their entire seasons on beating Nebraska. =/ Seriously...it's like they all take adrenaline pills before the game or something. If this were NCAA FBall on my playstation, ISU/KSU/CU would all get an instant +10 overall rating to all of their players.

    That's just how it feels."

I think every fanbase that is loaded with people who think their team is unstoppable believe this when their teams lose. Honestly, we've heard this excuse for Iowa losses and close games, and now apparently we plan our entire year around Nebraska too. Absolutely hilarious.

It's not like it isn't totally untrue though.

I wish every game could be like a Nebraska or Iowa game. And it honestly seems like that is all Iowa State fans care about. That said I think our fan base is coming around and starting to want some other games just as much. But still, fans care almost more about the fact that Iowa is losing when it comes up on the scoreboard in the stadium than they do about the score of our own game.

What arrogance. I don't think Kansas focused all their energy into beating Nebraska, if that's what that poster thinks. I think their secondary is just that bad.

Not that ours is any better.

Another thing is when you have a history like Nebraska's and now you are ranked again, you are always going to get everyone's best shot. That is just the way it goes.

But I also wouldn't say that every team cirlces their Nebraska game and says "If we beat Nebraska but still go 1-11, our season is still a success."

I agree that the fans get more up for the game, but that quote is insinuating that the players do as well, which is probably crap. Do I care more about the Nebraska game than the Mizzou game? Yes. There, I said it.
