    Cyclones struggle, lose by 31

ISU started the night ice cold and never warmed up. KSU started red hot and never looked back.

KSU defeated ISU, 80 to 49.

The only bright spot was Kelsey Bolte, again. Tonight she scored 17 points.

It's going to be a long season.

Bolte has impressed the heck out of me so far. Freshman and she has the body for the Big XII, which isn't quite as big of a shock for girls, but she just looks smooth and always in control out there.

Agreed. By the time she leaves ISU, she's going to be special.

The ladies have gone through a tough stretch here lately, but there are going to be some potential wins on the schedule coming up. They play Mizzou and KU two more times, plus Colorado at home. If they can somehow get it together and finish 8-8 in conference the committee would love to send them to Des Moines to get a crowd there for the NCAAs.

Sounds like Anna, Shelly, and Genesis played better than the starters. I will be saying this all year, but why couldn't Pierson have stayed. Bjerke too. We could use the bodies.

Anna hit a 24 footer late in the first half. Shelly and Genesis are getting some good minutes which will be beneficial for next season when Nicky and hopefully Toccara are back.

Completely agree about Pierson and Bjerke.

Re: Cyclones struggle, lose by 31

If the Sisters struggled, that wouldn't be so bad - I'm concerned that they didn't appear struggle, at least for the whole game. We need the open date for Bill to adjust the schemes and build some confidence. The reserves need time to get their heads into a contribution mode. We are not a donut team -Anderson isn't a potted plant. Amanda can give quality minutes in the paint. We've got a FOY contender. We've got experienced, talented guards - we still have post season prospects - where that is depends.

“We’ve got a pretty good football conference, and we’ve got a pretty good conference overall. We’re still walking around with our heads held high and our chest out, about that.” Paul Rhoads

Its rough looking, but it will give the others a chance to step up. I think it will make us stronger in the end so when the injured return they will be that much better.
