Who are your favorite color guys? (any sport)

    1. Bill Raftery
    2. Al McGuire

Raftery & McGuire are so much better than anybody else I can think of that I'll just stop there.....I'll never forget hearing Raftery say "send it in Jerome!" And what's better than hearing Bill start a Syracuse game by saying "the Orange drop back in a zone with man-to-man principles." Ha! Al would constantly be adding all these off the wall comments that cracked me up. I used to watch games these guys worked purely to hear what they had to say......it was a sad day when Al passed.

    BILL WALTON!

Listening to his impeccable vocabulary and dramatic comments make professional games so much more fun to watch.

Re: Who are your favorite color guys? (any sport)

Oh god, Raftery is the best. I'd much rather watch a game he's calling between Delaware and Winston-Salem than Duke-UNC with anyone else. My favorite quote from the last tournament, Ohio St. vs. Memphis:

Raftery: "The speed! Done with alacrity! Sitting over there he was salivating at an opportunity."

Lundquist: "I'm still trying to get over alacrity."

Raftery: "Don't ask me to spell it."

    and of course:

Lundquist: "I hope Dwayne Wade likes cajun cooking!"

    (dramatic 5 second pause)

    Bill Raftery: "JAMBALAYA!"

he's new, but I've loved Jeff Van Gundy from the moment I first heard him. He always looked ****** when he was coached and didn't seem like he would be a fun guy to listen to, but he is. He always gives insight into his own experience in relation to the action on the court and obviously knows a TON about the game.

Re: Who are your favorite color guys? (any sport)

Bill Walton is also favorite of mine.....I like it when he gets frustrated with lack of scoring, and gives us his in depth analysis by saying, "make a shot".....or "terrible".

LOL...I have heard Raftery say alacrity before, but I still don't know what that is supposed to mean. I'll have to look that one up.

Pappa smurf, Shrek, and Data on Star Trek. Oh you meant sportscasting color guys. How about Lou Holtz. Always makes me laugh when he slurrs his way through a pep talk.

Re: Who are your favorite color guys? (any sport)

Raferty is a good one. So is Danielson with CBS College Football. CBS has some good color guys.

I also like Chris Collinsworth. He seems to know what he's talking about most of the time, and makes up for the ineptitude of Bryant Gumbell (did I get the right Gumbell?) most of the time. Now, if only he weren't being dragged down by Gumbell...

Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice?
Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.

Re: Who are your favorite color guys? (any sport)

    -Fran Fraschilla
    -Kirk Herbstreit
    -Troy Aikman
-J. C. Pearson = He does low level NFL games for Fox but is underrated IMO.
-Gary Danielson does a good job with Verne Lundquist calling SEC games for CBS.
