    Men's Basketball Recruit

If there was a player that ISU should look at, how would one get word to the coaching staff. I have a good friend that works for the Oakland A's and in the winter he coaches 5A basketball in Phoenix. He has a kid on his team that was banged up last year and hasn't got many looks this year. Michigan, Purdue, Arizona State, and Arizona are just taking interest, but no offers yet. 6-6 215 Very athletic. Aaron Fuller is his name. He plays for Mesa High

Yes. He is nicknamed the "beast", but he has range.

    Re: Men's Basketball Recruit

What position does he play? with his height and weight looks like hes a forward, which IMO we are pretty set for the next few years

He can play 2,3,5. He is a machine in the weight room. My buddy thinks he could add another 40 pounds and still be as athletic.

    Re: Men's Basketball Recruit

Usually basketball players at 6-6 should only be 235 max, unless they are like marcus Fizer. This allows them to jump a little higher.

I seem to remember a kid that came to ISU that weighed 220 and was 6-7 and grew to 250-260. His name was Marcus Fizer. My buddy says that this kid reminds him of Marcus. Note my buddy worked in the athletic department at Iowa State when Fizer was here.

According to some newspaper articles, he is a pretty good football player too. He holds his high schools single game scoring record in basketball, too.

    Re: Men's Basketball Recruit

Email an assistant coach. Should be able to find their emails on the directory at iastate.edu.
Don't bother McDermott with it as I'm sure he gets emails like it all the time and doesn't have the time to check into them all.
Would probably be best if you knew some stats as well.

If you go to Cyclones.com and then go to the Basketball homepage, you can click on "coaches". Pick and assistant coach and their e-mail address will be there.

    Re: Men's Basketball Recruit

Fuller might be the real deal. As a Junior last year he averaged 18.1 PPG, 10.1 RPG, 1.8 BPG, 1.2 SPG. Attached are a couple of articles from this year....Anyone contacted McD yet?

Seems like Fizer's actual height and weigh alway varied it seemed like. At one time he was listed as 6-9 260 in the NBA.
