I would have rather seen NE vs. GB.

A rematch game of a few weeks ago in NE vs. NY does not get me that excited. Now I'm rooting for NE. I would have cheered for GB.

Personally, I think this is going to be a better Super Bowl than NE-GB. We all know NYG can compete with NE. Something tells me that NE would have eaten GB alive in the Super Bowl...

I thanked the good lord for the loss so we can all stop hearing about the Packers and Favre. I am sure I would have cracked prior to the kickoff in two weeks.

Now if Drake can just drop a few games I will be a happy man.

So true. Also, Coughlin is much more prepared to get a team ready for a title game than McCarthy is.

I look at the Giant team as all business, us against the world thing. The Packers have been riding this dream season, win it for Favre type thing.

I was pulling for a Packer victory but the Giants just wouldn't go down. That's a team that you absolutely can't let hang around - because they're finding ways to win games in the 4th quarter - and now - overtime.

The Pats will be well served to put that game away early, if they can. Otherwise, if the game is within a touchdown in the 4th quarter - IMO - it's a pick'em.

That's a different tune than you had all last week

Re: Giants, Pats endure cold, advance to Super Bowl

Yup...it is. Last week I felt the Giants were somewhat handed a win by improper game planning and poor execution. I do think some poor game planning by the Packers helped the Giants again Sunday - but 2 weeks in a row isn't just a coincidence.

Coughlin will be lucky to keep his OC/DC after the Super Bowl. Absolutely fantastic play calling on both sides and gutty play on the field.

And now that I'm praising the Giants, they'll go ahead and get trounced in the Super Bowl.

Re: Giants, Pats endure cold, advance to Super Bowl

As much as it pains me to say it, there's a small part of me that feels OK with the loss. If the Packers couldn't handle Burress, I really don't want to imagine what Welker and co. could do to the secondary.

Plus, if the Pack had won and lost to the Pats, that's not the way I'd want to remember the season. I can go from:

They were the team the Patriots beat in the Super Bowl to finish the undefeated season.

    to

Yeah, the Pats were perfect that year, but they never had to play the Packers.

Little spin I learned from little brother to the East.

It seems to me that the Giants have been playing a whole lot better since Shockey joined the fine folks on the IR list.

    Coincidence?

Even still, they'll get pasted in the SB.

this game will be done early... the pats can't wait to play in nice weather.

their open field type of offense needs this nicer weather.

Re: Giants, Pats endure cold, advance to Super Bowl

The Patriots need to wear their old uni's in the SB. That way they'll look sharp while smoking the Giants. A shout out to the Tony Eason-era.

And even when the Pat's win at all, the '72 Dolphins can still hold on to the fact that they had the coolest looking QB to go undefeated. Griese's Coke-bottle, "Drew Carey" style glasses under the helmet. Classic.

Re: Giants, Pats endure cold, advance to Super Bowl

I was amazed that King says very little about Favre's performance, almost nothing, other than "Bret, Bret, Bret,...".' This is a Hall of Fame QB, playing at home, and he was outplayed by Manning. No not Payton.

If The Packer's would have won, King's article would have been dominated by describing a courageous performance by the old QB.
