St Louis Fires OC and Oline coach

I wonder if Steve Loney will be heading to St Louis as the O line coach since he has ties with Scott Linehan?

I think some are getting a little ahead of themselves. So far CPR has done a pretty good job for his first year. If we win 3 games this year will everyone feel the same way? I hope we go undefeated and CPR has a ton of job offers but I'd like to give him a few years at the helm before I decide how great of coach he is.

Would be good for him he only needs a couple more years in the league to be fully vested for retirement benefits

Rams hire Loney as offensive line coach

ESPN - Rams hire Loney to be offensive line coach - NFL

Really wish we could have gotten him on our staff in some capacity.

good for the rams.. loney is an awesome coach

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

I am really suprised that Linehan wasn't gone after this season. I guess it is because of all the injuries

Steve always seems to get hired by coaches that are on the hot seat.

It does seem that way. At least he has a 2 year contract in case anything goes wrong.

I thought he was reritiring for good and that is why he was not sticking with Drake for a long while.

Re: Rams hire Loney as offensive line coach

An offensive line coach in the NFL makes about 4-5 times as much as Drake's HC. I think a lot of people would be surprised how little the Drake coach makes. I think Loney did it as a favor to the AD who he knew pretty well. He was still under contract from Arizona Cardinals last year.

Re: Rams hire Loney as offensive line coach

When I was at ISU one of my friends was a student assistant for the video coordinator and taped all the practices and games. He thought that Coach Loney was a great coach and even better person. Its nice to see him get another shot at the NFL, I have a feeling the Rams O-line wil be much improved in 2008.
