    Joakim Noah

Apparently he and Ben Wallace got into it last night after the game:

Struggles — and apparently strife— continue for Bulls on ChicagoSports.com

The team voted to have him benched a game ago then this flares up, that can't be a good thing. I know the kid is a little nutty and has a lot of energy but a rookie can't be shooting off his mouth and getting into it with veterans. I wouldn't be shocked if the Bulls trade him.

I guess that's what happens when you've already lost about as many games as people predicted you would for the entire season and you've fired your coach already. This team needs a boost.

    Re: Joakim Noah

He is probably upset that he has to play behind Wallace, considering Wallace sucks. What a monumentally stupid move trading away Tyson Chandler to acquire Wallace was. Paxson should be fired for that.

I always thought he seemed a little... spoiled. I would question his smarts too, going toe to toe with a vet is one thing, but to pick Ben Wallace to cry at, is just plain dumb.

I could be way off base here, but to me Noah has always come across as a total prima donna. Famous parents, affluent lifestyle, and multiple college championships have all contributed to a head the size of the Goodyear Blimp. He's seen himself as a star his entire life. I, for one, am not surprised in the least by his antics.

    just my opinion.

    Re: Joakim Noah

If I was punished for insubordination by my boss, then my co-workers got together and decided that I should be punished more. I'd be ****** too. I understand he's a rookie and he should know his place. But, I truly believe the coaches and management should have been the ones to handle the situation, not the players. This is a problem that stems from the front office. I'd probably have had a lot of issues with this team too, if they treated me this way. If the team is going to get together and discuss something, why don't they discuss how to play better basketball and win some games? Singling out a teammate, no matter what he does, isn't the way to go about building a better team.

I concur. Therefore, he is a perfect fit for the NBA. :)

I agree on all accounts of this. None the less, if he's your teammate, you have to at least give him that much respect. You don't have to like the guy, but, you have to find a way to work with him. Not letting the coaches do their job and deciding more of a punishment for him is no way to build team unity.

Then again, it's the NBA, it's the bulls and I live in Chicago. At least it makes for entertaining sports radio all day. Keep it up guys.

    Re: Joakim Noah

The way I read the article is it sounds like Noah is getting on starters for not trying hard enough. Can you really blame Noah for doing that? The bulls are in a slide and he wants to win. IMO, the bulls need more players like him, not less.

There are better ways to do this though. Just go out and play hard and let your game do the talking instead of shooting off at veterans when you haven't even been in the NBA for a full season. Ben Wallace has a championship ring, I think he knows what it takes to get there. Several other players on the team have been in the playoffs, they don't need a rookie telling them how to play.

Someone needs to tell them how to play.

Exactly. If you started a new job, you wouldn't criticize and question the effort of your co-workers the first week. It's not your place yet. There's a social order to things, and the new guy is expected to act like the new guy. Calling out the other players is no way to build any kind of team chemistry.

I guarantee this wouldn't be happening (at least on this scale) if Skiles were still coach.

No kidding, Travman. Set an example first and then try to bring the others with you. Rookies spouting off their mouths come a dime a dozen in professional sports now-a-days. Talking with your play and attitude on the court goes a long ways towards building credibility and leadership on the team.

Did Sidney Crosby become elected captain of the Penguins by running his mouth? Hardly.
