    Class Action Settlement on Diamonds

If you bought diamonds between January 1, 1994 & March 31, 2006 you might be able to be included in a $295 Million settlement against De Beers. The suit alleges price fixing. you can go to www.diamondsclassaction.com to get more info.

I blame them for the marital situation I am in now. Can I sue?

Like most class actions, no one will really benefit other than the lawyers and they'll be able to retire.

Re: Class Action Settlement on Diamonds

I always thought it was common knowledge that DeBeers price fixed. They whole heartedly admit they only release a small portion of the diamonds that they get each year. Plus, they buy up just about every diamond mine they can find.

But yeah, the only people who will benefit from this are the lawyers, they'll get rich and DeBeers will be able to raise the price even more using their payout of the suit as the reason.

I guess things like food, electricity, water, natural gas, that stuff should be monitored for price fixing. Diamonds? Not something you really need. If you don't like the price, don't buy it.

Does this include the ring I bought my wife from the shady looking guy on the corner of 13th & Grand? I picked it up when I was getting some sweet corn and he gave me a handwritten receipt and everything.

it says in the fine print that you don't have to even have receipt for it

Re: Class Action Settlement on Diamonds

First of all, has anyone successfully gotten a return?

Secondly, how can you get a return if they don't even ask for a receipt?
