Until proven otherwise, I agree with where he places ISU.

I can't really see a team other than Colorado that I would put us ahead of either, so I would have to agree.

Re: Lee Barfknecht's Big XII Basketball Ranking

Here's how the KC Star had it:
www.kansascity.com | 01/14/2008 | Three pointers: Aggies look to break Tech hex
    In three words

    1. Kansas Self’s best team
    2. Texas A&M Clear No. 2
    3. Baylor So many guards
    4. Kansas State Season-launching victory
    5. Missouri Anderson’s biggest triumph
    6. Texas Lousy lid lifter
    7. Oklahoma Tough opening tasks
    8. Oklahoma State Sent Tech reeling
    9. Nebraska KU effort better
    10. Iowa State Brackins goes nuts
    11. Texas Tech Much improvement needed
    12. Colorado Offense getting better
    and this:
    Three shooting mysteries
    1. Craig Brackins, Iowa StateEntering Saturday’s game at Baylor, Brackins was four for 18 on three-pointers for the season. Against the Bears, he went eight for 10 on the way to a 33-point game. The output set an Iowa State record for freshmen and tied a school record for threes in a game. “We’d seen it in practice; it just hadn’t carried over to a game until then,” Cyclones coach Greg McDermott said.
    2. Sean Haluska, Iowa State
He’s had some injury problems, but mostly it’s just bad luck. Haluska has missed all 26 of his three-point attempts this season.
    3. Missouri
Last season, the Tigers ranked 11th in the Big 12 in three-point defense, allowing opponents to shoot at a 37.9 clip. This season, Mizzou foes are shooting 26.6 percent from behind the arc, by far the league’s best.

Re: Lee Barfknecht's Big XII Basketball Ranking

On both those lists, look for Oklahoma State and Oklahoma to drop. I think they wil struggle in Big 12 play. I think we have a great opportunity to be about 7th or 8th.

I do not want to lose to Colorado in Colorado. That would be a travesty for how good Buffs really are.

Re: Lee Barfknecht's Big XII Basketball Ranking

"The Cowboys, who play at Baylor tonight, haven't won a road game since Feb. 4, 2006."

That brings back some bad memories of when we couldn't win on the road in the Big 12 from '01 - '05. I'm glad we don't have that problem anymore.

I disagree that the Buffs are that bad...I think they are a pretty solid and experienced team. Look at everybody they have back...Roby, King-Stockton, Hall, Silas, and Williams...they are long, athletic, and most importantly they don't have Ricardo around to screw them all up this year. Not saying they're going to do great in the big 12 this year, but nobody is a pushover this year and I'm sure we'll be underdogs going into Boulder.

Im just glad I have Homan as my bodyguard, Eustachy joked. If I ever make it real big and get to drive a limo everyday, hell be driving it. I thought he came off the bench like somebody was stealing his cow or something.

While we are not too happy where our program is right now, just think about how OSU fans feel. Will Eddie's kid survive?

Re: Lee Barfknecht's Big XII Basketball Ranking

i truely think colorado is no competetion in the big 12, obviously if we dont show up we will lose but they are just not ready for big 12 this season. 10th is probably right for us right now, but most likely no.12 will be CU and i think no. 8-11 will be ISU,OSU,NU,and TTU in no particular order, we have a chance to be #8, but only time will tell

Roby is one of those guys where you feel like he's been in school forever.

I don't think CU is that great this year but I wouldn't dismiss them completely. That guy they hired can coach. Whether the fans and the school remember they actually have a basketball program remains to be seen but I don't think it will be his fault if they don't succeed.

Ok, let's put it this way then - the Buffs are our best hope for a road win.

We always struggle at CU. No matter the circumstances. Remember in 1999-2000, one of our 2 league losses that year was in Boulder.
