Are you wondering about the ISU players stalled in the classroom? Why is he bringing up players that left the school 5 years ago?

What? Does it surprise you that there is a bigger article on how Ferentz and Tressle dress than two hawkeye basketball players getting arrested? Can you not understand the importance of a well dressed coach on the sidelines and knowing all about things behind it? I was just hoping they would have had a bigger article on how Kirk keeps his hair in place during windy days at Kinnick.

You know that if Rashawn Clark and Wesley Johnson had been arrested for the same thing, that story would have been at the top of the list, along with a background story about all the crime & mischief coming out of Ames in the past 10 years.

Rumor on the street is that Tressle is wearing the red tie this weekend...can you believe it!!! HE IS BREAKING OUT THE RED TIE!!! Finally, I don't know why he has been holding it back all season?!?! I mean if you aren't going to wear the red tie in a game like this, why do you even keep it in the wardrobe???

Ha, exactly! Great coaches know when to break something like that out. That's why McCarney will never take us to the big time. He's too tied to his golf shirts. Sure, it looks fine on the sidelines but he doesn't really have anything to go to when we need to take our game to the next level!

So what they steal - fur coats, rings, CDs, wallets, jeans, cars, jewelry, or food?

Wow, what breaking news. 2 NBA drafted players didn't finish their degrees!!!! Holy *****. What were they thinking ditching out on a degree to go make millions? Obviously, academics isn't stressed at ISU.

In other news, two EIU players steal stuff. No big deal.

    Re: Thoughts...

What's really good is that there is a blurb on the front page of the Register about it and then the line "Related Article, Page 3C".

Related Article?!?!?! Isn't that THE ARTICLE??

    Re: Thoughts...

I don't get the NCAA policy. If the NCAA is trying to enforce academics as being important, and I think they are, then why not just raise the per semester GPA requirement in order to stay eligible. Why do graduation rates even matter? Especially when transfers, early graduation, etc. all figure into that number. So what does it really tell anyone? How about the North Carolina NCAA championship team that sent 6 players to the draft. Should that team be penalized? I don't get it.
