Kudos to the 1 NCC member in Alaska. The lowest level of membership is minimal money - 10% membership is not asking a lot. I take from this map that the vast number of alums aren't that excited about athletics.

Why do you think this is? My guess (it just a guess so dont rip me a new cornhole) Most who go to ISU go for first and formost a science or technology degree. Hard science or tech people sterotypicaly could care less about athletics. Could be this too...out of all my roomates the final 2 years of school (8) I'm the only one who is a NCC member. The rest are big cyclone fans but live out of state (minus one) and see no reason to donate if they arent going to see benifits of joining(football/basketball seating.)

Speaking of Montana, if you live in Idaho, N. Dakota, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, W. Virginia, Mississippi, or Hawaii, come one you could be the 1!! Just donate $100. J. Pollard was saying if we could just get 10% of the people to donate $100 we could generate money for all of our plans.

I salute the one person in Utah, Alabama, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont!

I would fall into that category of not donating because I can't make it to games. But Jamie has started raising the awareness of the need and what alums at other Big 12 schools are doing. I've enjoyed Cyclone athletics for 25 years and have also done my share of complaining about uncompetitive teams. I realize now that I can't complain if I'm part of the problem. So this year will be my first year to become an NCC member. If I can find a few more Kansans to join, we can out number Texas NCC members.
I do think that the athletic department needs to work harder to get out of state alums to join. Like others have stated, we need large numbers of donors, not necessarily large donations.

    Go Clones!!!

In an attempt to increase membership in the ISU Alumni Assc., they are giving one yrs. membership to all non-members who in the NCC at no charge. It does not matter whether you graduated from, or even attended, Iowa State.

I grew up in Ames, but never went to school at ISU, so am getting the same deal. I got my membership packet the other day. As a lifelong resident of central Iowa, I'm very proud of the university and plan to take full advantage of it!

Re: ISU U.S alum & NCC membership

I wonder how accurate the numbers are for number of living alumni. I know the alumni assoc is pretty good with following former students around the states, but do they give up at some point, and how do they know if an alumnus passes away?

Is there an international map of alumni?
