    Mizzou

Just landed 4* OL Dan Hoch and 3* stud wide reciever Wes Kemp. Kemp had been committed to Wisconsin.

    Scary.

    Re: Mizzou

I guess but I'm much more concerned with Mizzou's recruiting than Iowa's. Remember, if we want to win a Big XII North title, we have to beat Mizzou. Not Iowa.

    Re: Mizzou

I thought he was going to give Nebraska another shot. I guess having Gary Pinkel make an in-home visit always helps.

I wonder if he'll pan out (unlike the other western Iowa 4* O-lineman a few years ago)...

    Re: Mizzou

I'm not surprised that Mizzou is making a late surge with its recruiting class, considering the success they had this year. Also, I'm no fan of Gary Pinkel, so it wouldn't surprise me if he used some ethically ambiguous tactics to lure these recruits out of their previous verbal commitments. I'm not saying he violated any NCAA rules, by any means, but I get the impression he doesn't abide by the unwritten code of giving kids some space after they make a verbal commitment to another school.

    Re: Mizzou

wasnt Pinkel on the hot seat last year? It seemed like he was pretty close to being fired. Now he's a genius! Kinda reminds me of the coach at EIU back in the day.

    Re: Mizzou

Pinkel was on the hot seat last year and I think even the year or two before. I think many thought he'd get canned after last season and being he didn't - this was his final chance at getting it done.

    I guess he did...

Coaches that live by that recruiting philosophy lose games then get fired. A kid is not committed to a school until his name is signed on the letter of intent and until then he is fair game.

Maybe so. Maybe that's the turn that the recruiting game has taken. To me, it seems that there's a difference between keeping in contact with a kid who's made a verbal commitment just to let him know that the offer's still open and recruiting him like he's still uncommitted. Maybe that's a naive assumption on my part. Regardless, I still don't like Pinkel. There's something about him that just makes him seem like a snake to me.

Agreed. The thing that worries me is that they probably won't lose a whole lot when Daniel is gone considering they have Blaine Gabbert(SP?) coming in.
